    Crank, no start

In my case the security system prevented cranking. Had to replace the security module to get it running again. Thank god I had an extra. Only other thing I can offer is my FPDM failed; symptoms were similar in that it would crank but not start. As Dino says ensure fuel is getting to thru the...

Where does extra sound insulation make the most difference?

While you're in there you may want to pull the plastic baffles at the bottom of the quarter panels (inside the seat belt retractor hole) and check if they need to be treated. This is a common area where rust/ corrosion starts. Had problems on both of my cars. Agree w/installing butyl in there...

    Technical headlight question

If you're handy with tools and a heat gun you can build a set yourself. Here's a series of pics illustrating how I did mine. I found everything I needed on Feebay. Think I spent probably $200 on parts (stock headlights; projectors; halo's, mounting system, etc) and about 20 hours work. I ended...

    Alternator rebuild

Places that rebuild alternators are few/far between anymore. Definitely keep them on the rolodex. :snoopy

UNSOLVABLE 3V problem ive been dealing with

Not saying that's your problem due VVT differences. Completely different car. Only that piston slap turned out to be the issue on the Armada and at first it would make the sound only under load. Likely your issue appears to be VVT/oil pressure related. I have an '06 and once in a while it will...

Which one to choose, Coilovers or struts?

Can't say. I only have experience w/the Bilsteins vs stock.

Which one to choose, Coilovers or struts?

Are you trying to create a track car or something livable for the streets? If street I'd recommend Bilstein B-6 or B12 struts/shocks and GT-500 strut mounts. Clock the fronts 180 deg from stock and handling will be significantly improved. Good luck.

No power to A/C controls after battery reconnect.

Check the connector on the back of the aircon switch. I've accidentally disconnected it before rendering the AC inoperative. You should be able to get to it on the backside of the panel by removing the drivers side panel near the driver's seat.

Loud radiator fan? As soon as start

I would run it back to the passenger strut tower ground. That is the main ground for the battery negative. Otherwise, any point on the frame or passenger fender is fine as long as it's metal.

Any have/had Raxiom CCFL Halo Fog Lights?

The SJB is located behind the kick panel on the passenger side foot well. You have to remove a small panel first. Just pull it towards the driver's side and it should pop out with a bit of tugging.

UNSOLVABLE 3V problem ive been dealing with

Any thought to one of the cylinder walls being scuffed? Should be easy to determine by scoping each cylinder. Had a problem with my wife's V-8 Armada that would only make a noise under load (at first) similar to a loose rod or cam bearing. Would go away while driving. Turns out one of the...

2 warnings after installing a new radio

    1. Do you have a code reader that you can use to clear codes? I'd try that first to see if the codes come back. 2. Wire brush and reconnect the battery connections. 3. Recheck your work. Did you remove and/or forget to reconnect any grounds?

    Fog lights not working

Can't say but my son's '07 v6 didn't come w/fog lights so I sourced an OEM switch, grill and OEM style fog lights and found that the harness already had the connectors in place and hooked it up. Everything worked find..
