So - my factory rod bolts have a sleeve on them, and are not threaded up to the head - meanwhile the boss 302 bolts are just that, no sleeve, threaded to the head. There goes my idea of using the stock bolts to check oil clearance.

Are the bolts serviced separately? The machine shop polished my crankshaft journals without asking... so I'm going to need to carefully check the rod clearances, either with plastigauge or with a mic.

Thanks

Sorry, not sure how I missed this and I'm sure I'm way to late to help but according to the parts catalog the Boss uses the same rod bolts as every Coyote. Also verified using a Boss LS VIN and the Ford HVBOM system.

Steve... thank you! I thought we discussed this and I found the bolts were only serviced with the rods. Now I can easily check my clearances!
