Well I always wanted to be able to make a build thread and starting it from bone stock.

The Car:
2013 Mustang GT Base (Deep Impact Blue)- A6
-Recaro Cloth Seat option
-Ford SYNC
-Backup Sensors

The History:
This car replaced my totaled 2005 Mustang GT Base- Manual with a Whipple SC and bolt-ons (525rwhp/490rwtq). Car was totaled in a unfortunate 40 car pile up (no my fault). I took some time and opportunity to pay off a lot of debt, then search for the coyote that I really wanted. I didnt settle. I chose this car because I wanted a Deep Impact Blue Mustang with cloth recaros and the strong A6

Old Car:

IMG_0022_zps55596627.jpg

The Plan/Goal:
A clean and very streetable 600rwhp car. I like to see a VMP TVS sitting on top of the 5.0 at some point. But right now, I start with the basics and move on up. This will not be a track car, however it may run down the quarter and road course just to monitor progress and for fun. This will be a full weight car and hopefully upgraded audio (never done it, but sounds fun). This won't be a audio car either. The point is to have a car thats a jack of all trades, master of none. I want this car to be street gem. I have a long way to go and I'm not a rich guy, so this thread will be a section at a time. I will update with each upgrade and post on the progress. Also, I'm going to attempt to do all labor myself, minus the billet oil pump gear I want installed later and paint work.

The Parts:
Today is the start of this project. I have had this car for a few months now and decided it shall be stock no more. This is what has been bought and/or awaiting shipping.

Suspension (Thank you Kelly @ BMR Fabrication)
-BMR Springs
-BMR Poly Bushing on-car adjustable Panhard Bar
-BMR LCA Relocation Brackets
-Koni STR.T Shocks and Struts

Exhaust (Thank you Chris @ White Bear Ford)
-GT500 quad tip exhaust (13-14) with valance panel

Wheels
-Steeda 20' Spyders (20x11, 20x9.5)
The plan is to get these wheels powdercoated Gloss Bronze where they are Black and keep the polished lip. These wheels were recovered unharmed from the Old Car.

Also chose the color and plan for powdercoating.

Keeping lip polished was labor intensive and would be $220 a wheel. And even most shops stated that can't even do it. So I explored some different options.

The company in the area that seems to have someone that can answer the phone with professionalism and high opinion of their services got the vote (also the company that could do the polished lip). The company is DJ Powdercoating out of Kernersville, NC. Quoted $465 for all wheels in the color I chose.....Bronze Burst Sparkle. Very similar if not the same as Forgestars Bronze Burst wheels.

Man, I love you 05 in the pics! That car is just about S197 perfection! Sorry to hear about your loss :(

That being said, I can't wait to see how the DIB build goes. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

And +1 on those wheels...they are gonna be hawt!

Thanks for the compliments. I hope I hit the nail on the head with the DIB as I felt I did with the 05.

I upgraded to Mac, so I lost my photoshop program, so I can't photoshop how Steeda Spyders in Bronze Burst will look like. I hope by not choosing play it safe colors that it will be a positive outcome.

Thanks to AnotherS197GT helping me get back on the photoshop bandwagon again, I was able to photoshop bronze burst forgestars onto a stock lowered DIB photo just to get an idea of the color.....

Even got an idea of powdercoating the 5.0 emblem (billet ones from UPR) the same color

or does this look better?

Both options look good. Why think in the box. Go for the Bronze look.

I'm wishing I did a poll on this. Lol. Silver hands down compliments the DIB. But for some reason I'm nervous about the Spyders in bronze as much as I love the color

I would have to say no. The dark bronze don't work that well with the relatively brighter blue. You'd have to go lighter, and, well, it would turn the Coyote into a Scooby.

See you say that, and it been in the back of my head.... Been looking at play it safe silvers and metallic grays.

Well today, I got around to installing an brand I can't remember alternative to Dynamat in the trunk area. Also installed a foam sticky barrier on top of that from the same company.

this is the exact route Im thinking of doing with my DIB... Bronze Burst Forgelines F14, funds are the only thing holding me back...I really want a wheel that few people have... even if they are kinda ugly...lol. I hope you do the Bronze Burst. I think the wheels and a nice clean car would pair well together. both look great in the sunlight!

I've ruled out Bronze. Maybe if the car was Kona, And Vista. I went to the shop and looked at the swatches. DIB is too "blurple". Lol. The purple hue in some lights ruins is what makes me not like the bronze. I'm considering Kingsport Gray with high gloss.
