Did some under-hood led's.. i promise they're not as bright as they seem in the pics lol. Used a momentary-on switch that gets pressed down by the hood when closed and shuts the led's off. Wired straight to the battery. They cast the right amount of light, and cover the whole engine bay nicely.
Im ordering some more for the trunk and footwells.

got some interior trim from Mr. Mikes, this stuff is magic.

Let me live with it for a few days to give you my final verdict, im still 50/50 about the trim around the gear shifter. The doors came out great. I used a little extra to fill a gap above the radio. Nice little touch too.
I put some around the map light console and it looks really neat and clean.

Used a hairdryer to fit it nicely and the stuff really works well. Easy to mold and conforms like a private schoolboy does to rules.

Overall, I would definitely recommend mr mikes trim, fast shipping and 15ft was only $20 shipped.

Apologies in advanced on the iphone pics.. only camera i have at the moment.

I've been wanting to install an underhood light as well. Would come in very handy. I installed some of MrMikes welt as well. I now have it around the shifter boot as well and I too am 50/50 on whether I like it or not.

Looks good!

I have the silver tinsel welt around the shifter, does not stand out as much as the white.

Yea even though the white matches the shifter knob and exterior, the black makes it stand out quite a lot

EVERYONE should do it.

(as per request):
Trunk LED's:
http://www.virtualvillage.com/120cm...on-strip-light-for-car-or-van-002510-100.html

and

http://www.virtualvillage.com/2-xenon-white-42mm-c5w-led-car-bulbs-with-9-leds-each-002510-068.html

License Plate:
http://www.virtualvillage.com/2-white-led-car-bulbs-with-4-leds-each-for-side-lights-002510-045.html

Dome/Map Lights:
http://www.virtualvillage.com/2-xenon-white-led-t15-car-bulbs-with-9-leds-in-each-002510-095.html
(available in blue too, the bulbs are T-15 Wedge base, but pretty much any wedge base works.. T-10 etc)

The dome and license plate use the same wedge (T-15/11/12/ also known as 194)

The trunk light is a 42mm (anything from 39-44mm will work) festoon bulb.

yea the light under the hood is the best addition so far.
It comes on automatically when the hood is open, real attention grabber and really looks good. nice broad, clean light.

Do you have a writeup on how you did the underhood light?

Parts, links, etc?

VERY interested in that! :)

I have this kit

Looks like his pics are gone now though.

Its really simple, get leds that run off 12vdc and run the power wire off the battery under the hood blanket and up to a spot under the hood where you want to mount them, 3m tape them on to the hood to shine down in the engine bay. Then ground the black wire and install either a momentray pressure switch so it comes on when you pop the hood or you can install any kind of switch you want and then you can turn them on/off whenever.

Cool! Thanks guys. I guess I always think of momentary switches as being ON when pressed down. Gotta find one that shuts OFF when pressed:beerdrink:
