My 06 is Procharged and puts 420 rwhp with 3.55 manual trans.
Considering going to 18" wheel\tire combo and wanted some ideas on a Nitto nt05r for the rear that will hook up but not bog the Motor.
Thanks.
Jack

If I go with that 285 40 18 tire on a 10" wheel, is that going to look too short in the rear wheel well, or should I bump it up to 19" or 20" on all four?

The 20" NT05r is almost 29" in diameter, I think it is 28.79 IIRC. That's way big unless your making a lot of power and/or have a big gear. I had it and it made my 4:10 more like 3.73's The 18" I believe has a larger diameter then the 19" tire, so stay with the 18. Check out Nitto's web page they have a nice compare table.

it's a 27" tire, near stock height - should look perfect

305/45/18 is what I ran but I had 4.10 gears. It fills the wheel well real nice and gives it a little rake.

Those are the tripple 5R's but the same size. 10" rim on ProKit springs.

Thinking about 245 40 18's on the front in a Nitto 555.
Any problems with this combo?
Wheel wise 18 -10 on the rear and 18-9 front. These are American Racing Torque Thrust bullet style iin Black with a machined lip.

255/40/18 would be better. IMHO. the 245 is 1 1/4" shorter than stock.

Nitto doesn't seem to have a 255 40 18 . Any other alternatives besides the Goodyear F1?

Look's like 255 45 18 front and 285 40 18 rear will be within about one tenth of each other height wise.
Any clearance problems on those front tires? Suspension is stock.

Those were Ford's OE sizes for the 2008-ish GT500, on 9.5" wide wheels (+45 offset IIRC).

I ran that exact front tire combination on all four corners of my NA '08 GT (stock ride height) for several years. Couldn't make it rub, ever, not even at autocross or out on road courses.
