I was just checking to see what is the correct level of the rear end oil level on an 05 gt. I have a seal leak and checked the level. It is level with the fill hole. I have heard level to hole but also saw a service manual page show 1"below.

Full to the hole is too full. The excess will typically blow out the vent.
I typically use a finger to feel the depth below the fill hole, and make sure there's fluid on the tip of my finger, but not full to the hole.

I have an aftermarket cover as well but the rear hole is higher then the one on the front of the rear end.

You will be fine either way.

The correct oil level is to stop when it's full.

j/k I don't know the answer. Older 8.8's, like my Foxbody, take 2 qrts and 4oz bottle of friction modifier..
