i personally had a bad dealing with JDM as well. basically to keep it short, i had tensioner issues and i had a noise coming from the rear end. i spent 5 hours at JDM, of which 45 minutes were spent on the car.

1. i was told the rear end noise was completely normal and because my UCA had poly bushings it was jsut transmitting the noise. they found this out by NOT test driving the car. didnt know you could diagnose noises like that

WRONG. i had bent axel tubes, a bent carrier gear, and major gear runoff. i had to pay another shop $300 to diagnose this for me.

2. i had been throwing belts and bending tensioners with the KB kit. they repalced my bent stock tensioner with a stock tensioner and told me it was fixed. i insisted Jim Sr take it for a drive and powershift the car. We went for a drive and 1 powershift is all it took to bend the tensioner and he was stumped.

he did not solve this problem

3. i wanted JDM to custom tune my car.

they refused to tune the car with the KB Boost-a-pump. that i can understand but when i told them i was going with a twin GT supercar pump system, he (jim Sr) still refused to tune the car as he said he wasnt sure about the "quirks" of the system, even though its the same pumps as the ford GT. i then decided on the FRPP GT500 system and he refused again saying the GT500 system he sold with the Saleen wire harness was superior and thats all he would tune with. needless to say i never got my car tuned there. i was basically told in different words, buy our fuel system or we wont tune your car. their fuel system was almost $250 more than my other choices by the way. the saleen wire harness was special i guess.

so i go to pay the bill for the time spent on the car. its sitting on the table and reads 89.00. he said he wasnt gonig to charge me for the tensioner that he bent testing the car. Jim sr takes the bill to the back office and hands his son the new bill of aprox $350 bucks. so i got charged 350 bucks to tell me the rear end noise was normal when it wasnt and to not have the tensioner issue fixed. now i could understand if they spent a few hours on the car charging me labor but i was there the whole time they spent aprox 45 minutes total, including the test drive. thats a hell of a bill for that. needless to say i will never use JDM again and wont recommend them to anyone.

Jim Jr is awesome by the way, he cares about the customers and genuinely wants to help. Jim Sr just wants your money and doesnt care how he gets it, even if its screwing you over.

RPMOutlet.com is a bunch of dipshits.

I filed a return with them online and stated that the part (Pypes mid-muffler) didn't fit the car right. They give me a return # to send it back. Great. I send it in, and lo and behold, the asswipes send the box back saying it was "used". Well no fucking kidding - how do they think I came to the conclusion the God damn fucking thing doesn't fit right?! And I'm sure they're not going to reimburse the $50 spent on shipping the fucking box to Texas.

Fuck you, RPMOutlet.

Oh, and in addition, their customer service was unreachable every single time that I attempted to get in touch.

Holy moly, some of these stories are downright scary. How some of these shops continue to operate is beyond me...

Was not too happy with Granatelli myself. Ordered a black single strut brace as part of a group buy. They sent me a polished double brace. It took a week to arrive and it was wrong. So I called up and they wanted me to keep the double. I explained it was too heavy for my tastes, and did not clear the plenum cover as the single would have.

I wanted them to 2nd day the right bar to me, and send a UPS pick up label for the old bar. Finally, I got them to at least send a pick up, but they shipped the bar through normal channels.

They were pushing it on me as it was more expensive, why don't you keep it, etc etc. Just not what I wanted or ordered.

Overall, the cost of the bar was great at 60 bucks or so and looks great. But it took over two weeks and a few calls, repacking the old bar up, etc, to get it straight. And it just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Also the new bar arrived slightly damaged in shipping and I had to touch it up a bit.

This is pretty intresting thread... and I like the openess of this forum. Censorship and especially banning sucks!

Is it ok to post bad experiences about S197Forum.com vendors too? :)

all we ask is that you tryto work it out with the vendor first. if it doesnt work we can try to help. then post it here if you get nowhere.

you should always try to work things out first before posting bad stuff, regardless of the vendor.

we will not censor you here

BMR - They don't feel that it's neccesary to notify you that something is on back order. You just wait for the part to show up. And you wait some more. After a week goes by you call and ask WTF. "Oh, that part is on back order." Why didn't they just tell me that to begin with? I would have bought from somewhere else because It's not like I didn't need it this Friday or anything.

Yet another RPMOutlet.com horror story, or three:

I had a few issues back when with my dealings with them and my 04 parts...figured what the hell, i'll give them another chance when I got the 08...

I order a cai/tuner from them before I found out I was able to afford my S/C...I call and cancel when I find out and am told, NP..hasn't shipped yet, will pull the order your fine. 10 calls and a bunch of BS later, they say it was shipped before I called and I was stuck with the 10% restocking fee. I show them that UPS says it was shipped 3 FULL DAYS after I cancelled, wouldn't budge. Lost 70ish on that deal.

So,
I look and look for a better price on a Hurst shifter and for someone who actually has one in stock, RPMOutlet was the cheapest listing and said "we have those in stock, np". I order, nothing, nothing, nothing, week 2, Its backordered, week 3, same, 4, its backordered, but we are having it drop shipped from Hurst, week 5, they say Hurst is not expecting to have them until end of MARCH...I say fuck it, lemme get the Pro 5.0 instead and i'll pay more, Do you have it in stock, YES, WE DO IT WILL SHIP TODAY. 4 days later, Oh, We screwed up, that is on backorder too, week 6, nothing, I said screw it and Cancel, week 7.5 refund...lost 5% plus no refund on the shipping. Had ordered the LCAs on the same order that arrived ok. So apparently, shipping one thing costs the same as shipping 2 on the planet they live on.

RPMOutlet SUCKS DONKEY BALLS!!!!

mrbodykit.com

Ordered a set of 3dcarbon headlight splitters. Said they came with everything.

1st. Took over two weeks to get
2nd. They are rubber type material
3rd. no double sided tape
4th. no instructions.
5th. Just thrown in a box

I am very disappointed because i spent $94 shipped to my house for these. Said they have the double sided tape and ready to paint...... The texture feels like a chin spoiler
