Decided to go ahead and hang some of my signs and banner in my garage today. Still gonna paint it and paint a mural on the right side.

My garage is not very big, but the photos in this thread have me wanting to finish it inside.

P.S. The palm tree is no longer there.. It didn't like MI weather, but was sort of a joke and lasted much longer than I thought it would.

I started cleaning up my garage today. I was getting tired of not being able to find any of my tools. I've been doing a bunch of projects and working on people's cars, so I just had everything strewn about and piled up. I REALLY need to get a tool box that is about 3 times the size of the one that I have. I also want to cut my work bench down some to make room for a bigger tool box and I want to find a sheet of stainless to cover the particle board that the bench has for a top now. I'm also going to build a shed off the back of the garage for yard equipment and additional storage. I'll probably put the air compressor in there too and just plumb the air into the garage.

For the guys who have seperate garages away from the home, is it built out of metal or wood? Can you post pics and dimensions if you have them. We are planning on a 28x35 but id like to see what yall have.

Mine is a block garage. If have to look at the tax site to see the dimensions.

I know the one thing some look into is their zoning. Sometimes if you put up a "pole barn" you get an exemption for farm property. Then you close it in and it's still classified as a pole barn.

Is talk to some contractors and find out what different options there are.

Edit: it's 24x28 and I wish it were 28x40... But it's big enough for one lift and a work area or two cars side by side with door room.

Just find out the exemption difference in a metal vs wood frame. I know here in Alachua county Florida there was a huge difference in the taxes.

Wow, we have some really nice garages on here... Just moved in to our new place in January so finally getting all the boxes and crap out of the garage. The wife got what she wanted inside the house... I set the garage up to be my man cave. My side of the garage is a tandem stall where will put cabinets for all my tools and crap. During the building process I added a few things I always wanted, like a hot/cold hose bib and floor drains for washing the cars inside in the winter! I plan on spending a lot of time out there so wired up cable TV and put speakers in the ceiling for music. Will be a work in progress, first thing is painting the walls obviously...

For Father's Day, the wifee got me a fridge for the garage and some new speakers. I refinished my garage floor and it came out pretty good:

I had a supervisor watching my work, it was a 4 inch long alien. You can see him in the first picture on the Ford Racing banner.
