So some of you know what I went through to get the car going after blowing up the second built 3V. I have decided on a new setup and have just about everything in to get it going again. The car has been basically sitting for the last 6 years and a couple months (4/6/2010). I have gotten rid of everything off the 5.3L big bore 3v after finding out that they left coolant in the motor and it was rusted up, coincidentally the GT500 motor I bought had the same fate.

I ordered a built 5.4 from Accufab and everything to put it together. Then decided that I wanted to go the Coyote route. So now I have a sleeved 2012 block and all new parts to get it going again. Parts list below.

2012 Coyote block with Darton Gen III sleeves 3.7" bore
New Boss crankshaft
New timing set
New Livernois Stage 3 ported and polished cylinder heads
Diamond pistons 12:1 compression top and side coated
New Coyote oil pump with TSS billet gears
Oil Squirter block off plates
Manley Pro Billet I beam rods
MMR Billet Crankshaft gear
Accufab SHD secondary timing chains
MMR billet chain guides and secondary tensioner bracket
New Boss Alternator
All the misc. sensors from BeefCake
FRPP Coyote Control Pack for 11-14
Built TR6060
Mcleod RXT twin disk clutch
Stock intake cams and Boss exhaust cams

Some things I am still undecided on:
Intake Manifold? Looking at Holley Sniper, Victor Jr, and 5.2 Voodoo intakes?
Do I need to do anything further to strengthen the block past the sleeves?

Block just got back from getting sleeved and looking to start getting it assembled.

I plan to reference a couple threads on here (mainly Lito and MattD) about the Coyote swap with Control Pack into an earlier body and specifically into the 2005 due to the changes from 2005/2006 to 2007+.

Car was converted to drag racing but now looking to convert it back to street/drag.

Here is thread with most of the stuff done to the car.

I would say the cast aluminum Edelbrock Victor intake is a better choice for boost than the mass-produced sheet metal intakes (Holley, etc).

I would assume the VooDoo intake is good for mild boost (like the Boss and Cobra Jet), but they are intended for N/A use. The plastic Cobra Jet intakes have been tested and failed, but nobody will say at what boost pressure and who paid for all of those intakes (a guy on ebay sold over a dozen of them with seams blown at various places, but never returned my messages).

Stock and Boss intakes are fine. Cars are running in the 7's with them.

Made a little more headway. Work has been crazy for a while. Also splitting time on a Foxbody.

Awesome build! Good shooting on the pictures too, I love seeing all the details. Question- did you paint the block or do they come blue like that?

Engine builder painted it. He has a coloring system of the level of block it is. Blue for sleeved, red for supports, and I forgot other colors.

I did not expect this thread to end so abruptly...
That porting is insane. Absolutely beautiful work.
Any updates or is this dead?

Threads not dead (unlike the Coyote Control Pack ECU). I’ve been really busy with work lately and don’t get on forums much anymore. Car is running on Infinity 7 ECU now. Still doing break in on motor and having an internal struggle about the TR6060 i put in the car versus the 4STB-E that was in the car before. Still buttoning up some odd and ends with the car being down for so long (8 years) and then will be getting it on the dyno. Then will be putting turbo kit on it. I also have to figure out how to mount the CD7 digital dash.

I’ve also been splitting time on my 93 Fox getting a 3.5L EcoBoost with 6R80 swap.
