Hey guys, first off happy father's day to all. Question, has anyone done a 13/14 cluster swap into their 11/12? In the north jersey/ NY area? Is it hard? Anyone has a VMii tool? Any tips?

Thanks

Yes, it has been done. I believe you have to reprogram things and, if it is an automatic, swap gear selectors, as well. It is not a direct swap, but it can be done.

I would like to go to an 11-12 cluster honestly. Not a huge fan of the 13-14. MyColor is pretty cool but I actually like the gauge face on the 11-12 a bit more.

It's relatively easy, but you need the following

-new cluster (unless you are just going to run a used cluster with the incorrect mileage - you can never reprogram a used cluster)
-steering wheel d pad (for screen navigation)
-13/14 abs module

as built data needs to be entered properly via VCM to configure the abs module.

Everything works via canbus so no rewiring is needed.

And if you have an auto, you also need the '13/14 gear selector and a reprogram to the PCM, right?

I'm not challenging your response, just curious... Why would you need to change the ABS module? What is going on in the gage cluster that the two would care about each other?

I believe the 13/14 has a different style of traction control that communicates from the cluster to the ABS module. One is programmed for one version etc. small change but that's what merits a new module. Used one from a wrecked 13/14 is fine

challenge accepted: 13/14 ABS module has the correct parameters for the track apps to work. 11/12 did not have that technology.

I believe so, I haven't done it for an auto.

Is the millage stored in the cluster or the computer? I know I changed some cluster on some Mack truck and the millage is in the computer.

Both.

Mileage is stored in cluster and PCM but they do not communicate/overwrite each other; programmed separately.

I want to do the swap, i like the screen and the black gauges better than the white. I do know that a special Pc is needed to program the cluster.

OK, I will bite. What is the mileage on the 11/12 cluster? Just for shits and giggles....
