So with the price of other 05-09 Door inserts being so high, and me being so cheap, I opted out for a different route. I'll be very interested to see how this turns out. Cost me around $48 and I'll have enough for both inserts and the rear "L" Pieces hopefully.

Its a suade headliner in onyx black, i'll update with some pics and such of how it turns out. Should be installing in the next 1-2 weeks. Going to use contact cement as adhesive, and trace the old inserts slightly larger onto the fabric

Replaced door fabric/inserts in another vehicle I owned and was pretty straight forward and a great option. Take apart, remove old material and use for stencil, cut and apply. If my memory serves me right used some spray adhesive and it has held up great.

Look forward to seeing your end product.

Yeah, I was going to use a sharpie and trace it on the foam side. I tried 3m spray adhesive but haven't had much luck, think contact cement is the most sure method. I think it'll turn out great, if people like it I can always go buy the fabric I used for them.

Having something to trace makes it a breeze. I used the adhesive so that it's easier to change again--which I know I will have to do. It was for my Wife's car that I will take over as a daily in a year or two and the fabric we went with is different than I would choose.

Fun project though.

Have a small issue, hopefully fixable, some cement seeped through and left a few small spots. Searching for a fix atm, but heres the final product

What I did on my old 08 GT was install a pair of used V6 door panels that had no inserts from the factory. Solved that problem permanently.

Carpeted many a speaker box in my earlier days using 3M spray adhesive. Lay down plenty of newspaper if you do it inside or on the garage floor. Plenty as in large area coverage.

I like to get it all over the place you know, gives the car this "I don't give a shit look to it". lol Just kiddin. That stuff is messy though. I think when I redo the panel i'll use a light amount of 3m adhesive and very light anount of contact cement.

I've been kicking around making a rear seat delete kit for my 14. I just got told last night to cage it or stay 11.00+. So cage and rear seat delete in the near future. The dog will probably like the flatter surface anyway!

I can't believe how much the deletes cost! 100-200 ford wood with carpeting? Come on. Refering to the dog in your prof pic? I used to have a boxer, miss him like hell. Best dog ever.

I thought about doing this a while back after I installed my Boss 302 steering wheel. I loved the feel of that material, and as I have the base interior I don't have any sagging panels to currently mess with. I wonder if it would turn out as well on my panels.

Yeah I still haven't finished this project. Life got in the way. Not sure if i'm going to replace the one side or just leave it be with those adhesive imperfections
