My tachometer malfunctioned about a year ago.

I researched the issue and it appears to be a failure of the stepper motor so I bought some stepper motors on eBay.

Well today I finally got around to fixing it.

Here's my amateurish soldering job. It took me a while to get that stepper motor out.

On close inspection, my soldering job did not look promising, however, when I fired up the car it worked !!

Some of the needles were a little off but I just adjusted them as needed.

Well, I'm quite happy with the results !!

I paid a guy on ebay $60 to do my stepper motors over the winter.

I decided I'd rather do that than go in there trying to do it myself and screw something up.

I decided to give it a shot.

Worst case, I'd have to buy a used cluster gauge :insane:

I remember when my speedo went bad on my old 2005. Bought a new stepper motor direct from China, $1.97 Canadian to my door. How did they make anything on that???
