I've always had a woody for these vents, and I'm glad to see there are more options out for these. I have a Keenan 3" cowl hood in fiberglass. Has anyone vented a fiberglass hood? I'd like to get my hands on the templates for the '05-'09 and '10-'12 vents to see what may work for me. I'm planning to do aero in the winter of '17 (front splitter, rear spoiler), and the hood venting would be a huge bonus.

Check the video link I posted, they do an install on a 2012 fiberglass hood!

Looks good. Love their one-piece construction.

In to see report of how it fares.

Just finished the install of the Trackspec extractors on my 2011 stock hood. I will be doing a full write up later. Really happy with the way they turned out.

This what you were looking for?
I have the Steeda CAI and it is not exposed. I am going to reinstall the cover trim piece on the motor just to cover up things a little more.

The more I look at these the more I like them. They look especially great on the 2011 hood. Thanks for sharing!

I also just picked up a set for a 2011 GT:

Please excuse the bad lighting and half-complete splitter.

For something that should perform almost as well as a Tiger Racing hood and costs significantly less (especially when you consider paint), I think this is a great option. The louvers themselves look pretty well made, but on the car, they look a bit "out of place" to me. However, for this car, I don't care. I wouldn't add them to a daily-driver, but of course to each their own.

Before installing these, I watched Grassroots Motorsports's video on installing them, and I think that's what ultimately drove me to buy them. It was really comprehensive, and it had me sold. Technically, these are not hard to install, but it really helps to have two people. I removed the hood from my car (a two-person job) so I didn't have to worry about cutting something, and I put some paint on the bare metal before installing the louvers. Even with the hood off the car, I needed help putting the washers under the rivets. I don't think a pneumatic rivet gun would have allowed me to do it myself. My arms aren't long enough, and since the rivets are kinda cheap (one of the mandrels fell right out of one of mine), I wouldn't want to risk it. Also, I think I took way more time aligning the templates compared to them. It's deceivingly difficult to draw straight lines on a long, curved surface. I'm still off by ~1/8", but probably I'm the only one who will notice. Overall, I probably spent 3-4 hours on the whole job, but if you're not as OCD as me, you can do it in 2 hours.

I'll see how much of a difference these make to coolant and oil temperatures on-track in about a month...

I used a pneumatic rivet gun and had help holding the washers and that definitely made it easier. Could not have done that part alone.
Getting them straight for me wasn't too tough, I just tapped of the hood with painters tape, measured and drew a line down the center and came off of that.

I'm very happy with the results.

Thanks.

I think what I struggled with the most was lining up my marks on painter's tape with a tape measure. No matter how hard you try, there will always be a slight curve to the line you draw (if it's on a curved surface). In retrospect, a plumb-bob might have been a better option. I could have just taped it down every couple feet and drawn a line against it. Oh well.

You know what else I like about it? It's different.
Every body and their brother has a Tiger hood....this is different enough to set it apart from the rest.

I have a flexible 48" stainless steel Rule. Just what was needed.

Alright, I'll take back what I said earlier. While I thought the louvers looked out-of-place with the way the car looked when I installed them, they work well now that everything is together:

I still wouldn't install them in a stock-looking car (personal preference), but I think they can look good depending on the overall package.

Looks excellent. I'm looking forward to hearing how they worked out on track. On a side note, what wing is that...?
Post up some pics of your car, I'd love to get a closer look at it.
