I tried a hole saw from harbor freight.....No luck. So since I didnt have a body saw....we had to be creative. Drilled holes all around and stepping up the bit sizes as we went, then used small snips with tin clippers. I sprayed the hole area with rust eliminating spray paint and plastidipped the edges instead of using the supplied vinyl strips. Nerve racking cutting into my car again (more so than with the GT500 valance install), so turned out very well. Yay RTR decklid panel.

Final Result first, so people don't faint from the install carnage:

Drill Holes:

Drills a little bigger:

Snip Snip and hole is made. Bend the sharp ends inward to make it flush:

And also took the time of plastidip my hood vents. First time plastidipping. It was fun and I think it turned out great:

As nerve racking as the GT500 valance install. Something about cutting into a brand new car.

Well I decided and ordered the following:

From Latemodel Restoration:

- DF5 Wheels: 20x8.5 and 20x10 in Silver
- SVE Shorty Antenna in Black Billet
- SVE GT500 Pedal Kit for Automatics

From American Muscle:

- Modern Billet Polished Billet Door Lock Pins
- Modern Billet Chrome Door Vent Louvers
- Modern Billet Headlight Knob Cover
- Modern Billet Console Button Bezel

From BMR:

- BMR's new boxed LCAs (TCA032) in Black Hammertone
- Magnetic Angle Finder

From Ebay:

- 14'' GT500 Brake adapters

From our Classifieds (waiting to pick up and pay member):

- Metco adjustable UCA w/ mount (nervous about adjusting this thing right)

Funny thing is that I still have this laying in the floor at home still waiting to be installed on my car:

-BMR adjustable panhard bar, LCA relocation brackets, lowering springs
-Steeda HD Strut Mount with Camber Adjustment
-15" GT500 Brembo brakes

But its all tied together. I didn't want to lower the car without a UCA and new wheels. I can't install the brembos until I get my 20'' wheels. I still need to get tires (I doubt my 315/35s and 275/35 with good tread left from my steeda spyders will fit my DF5s).

those are nice looking wheels and quite a stash of parts to all go on at once

I wanted to know where you are getting the brakes powdercoated and what is involved, I want to get a new set of the 14" gt500 ones for my 05 but do not like the black

Try to find a similar color blue as the car to do the letters in or red.

I thought about it, but I like to make it not look too different and find myself color matching things like that. Some contrast works. Now to find the right size of decal for 6 pots that stock size....I think we have a thread going about that.

I bought the primer, burnt copper paint, and clear coat today. All high temp VHT brand. 2 cans of each.
