Don't have the car yet but a buddy and I are working on the details of a 2005 GT...I'm hoping to learn and contribute...

Welcome to the forum. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better resource for s197s than this place.

thought I'd update this...today I got to talk with my buddy and take a small look at the car...

when I arrived, it had four nearly flat tires and was dirty and dusty from sitting in the garage...it started with a jump and stayed going until put into gear and then died...a new battery will probably be installed tomorrow...

The interior has many of the typical '05 GT faults for it's age but other than being dirty and someone sure liked his armor all it needs a clean up bad...

I checked the oil and it appeared clean, the air filter appeared as new, the power steering fluid had no foul smell and there was no extra noise to the power steering...coolant looked normal and all seemed as it should.

I'll know a bit more tomorrow but my buddy said a lot of old feelings came back when he started it up...you know how that goes but I think we may still strike a deal that works for both of us.

Wish me luck,

Bill

looks like I just got the word that he may keep it...

Thanks for the help and support...I'll chime in if something changes or comes along...either way, I may get to help him get it back to fighting weight and back on the road...

well, I heard back from the owner who said perhaps this weekend he will put a new battery in it and we can go for a drive...if I like it, we may yet do a deal on this...I'll let you know after the weekend, we'll see.

we made the deal...this Mustang needs some love after several years in the garage.

As it looked when we took it out of it's garage...

After some attention on it's first day with me...

It needs quite a bit more work but a super clean, double wash using Dawn dish soap, a mild clay bar (I only had an old one) and some Meguiar's Cleaner Wax just to protect it until I can do more to the finish...
