I currently have the 28" tall Hoosier quick time pro, and with my stock suspension height, I'm sure I could easily fit a taller tire in the rear, and was wondering if anyone here has used these at the drag strip. I know this is tire, and there is a wheel / tire section, but this is pretty drag race specific deal here so.... Anyways, here's the tire in question https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hoo-17700/overview/ I like the idea for a taller tire for gearing, and traction purposes.

For an auto you need the Hoosier 275/60/15 DOT drag radials.

I have also run the Hoosier 30x9x15 drag radial slick, light weight with decent success.
10.56 to be exact.

Would you choose those Hoosier drag radials over the MT radial pros? Something like this
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-3754x/overview/ Pretty much going to be "track only" from here on out btw..

I have used them both. The MT are way heavier (about twice the weight) but have a much longer life.

The Hoosiers are much lighter but you will be replacing them more often.

They both have similar performance.

Thanks WBT, the qtp's that are on my car now seem pretty much identical in traction and feel to the full hoosie bias ply slicks I had on my 04 Lightning, except the qtp's have a little tread cut into them for the DOT stamp is all I'm thinking. Either way, your thinking with my car being an auto, that a bias ply tire is of no advantage over a radial? The car with it's bias ply qtp's now doesn't drive too bad at all is why I'm asking

Correct. All things equal the radial tire would be faster and more stable at high speed. The downside is recovery from spin is not as good however I will say it is much less of a problem with newer tire technology today as it was in the past.

If it were me I would stick a Hoosier DOT drag radial on there. 275/60/15.
