When I had my '05 I was a little let down by the toque, but pretty happy with the HP. This would give the V6 a huge torque boost everywhere while flattening it out it the same time. And it'd be well above that of the V8 cars at every RPM. The fact that it would add another 100-150 wheel hp would just be icing on the cake.

When not in boost, the V6 fuel economy would be welcome as would the V6 insurance (if it is a big enough difference).

Seriously?
Are you going to be able to fit an intercooler under that bad boy? Very curious what the overall height is going to be.

And as for SoloBusa's 650HP(at the fly wheel) procharged engine, 3 of the 6 wristpins went all at once. He is running new fuel rails with E85 too.

Thank you sir for the correction.......

That's a pretty cool project. Keep a quiet exhaust on it and let the blower whine do the talking.

From the looks of it, definetly a slight cowl at least. I always prefer sleepers, so if you can fit the blower and intercooler under a 4" or 5" hood that'd be great. 10-12 is A LOT of boost, you'll probably need forged internals with that much power. SoloBusa lost 3 wrist pins all at once with that much boost, doing all new motor now.
Wish I lived closer, and mine wasn't a daily driver...

We've confirmed about 9" of clearance between the front intake runner on the plastic upper manifold and the hood. This means we can most likely fit it under the stock hood.

Didn't he break his engine at like 650hp? That should have been a lot more than 10psi with his Procharger setup? We're looking to make a solid 450whp with the base kit. I think that's very reasonable.

I'd like to clear up a few misconceptions.

First, and foremost.. this is NOT a kit being developed by KB. It was designed/machined IN HOUSE here at Nautilus Performance in Houma, LA (www.nautilusperformance.com). We are testing multiple superchargers, and will probably go with KB when it's all said and done.

That being said.. This is a full working kit that was used for testing in a supercar. I can't divulge which company, but let's just say that it is proven and will make at least 450whp on pump gas without breaking a sweat.

Here's a pic of the running prototype..

Also, this is a fully intercooled kit. There is a Bell Intercoolers air to water core tucked away in the manifold, and it's good for 700hp.

I know you can't see the core, but I promise that it's in there.

And, a top shot, without the bypass valve/plenum installed..

This particular supercharger is a 2.1 liter Kenne Bell. It'll be good for around 450-475whp, and will be the "base" supercharger that will come with the kit. We will also offer a 2.4 and a 2.6H for those looking for big power with built engines.

For those asking about hood clearance.. we are 75% sure that it will fit under the stock hood. If there is around 9" of clearance between the first intake runner on the plastic OEM manifold and the hood, that pretty much tells me it'll fit. If not, we'll probably offer 1" k-member spacers to drop the engine down 1". But, we can probably get it under the stocker without any issues. There's room to shrink it down a bit.

maybe in 3 or 4 years this will be a common kit and prices will be good enough to talk the wife into for her car.

Is this a S/C that is made to your specs as in snout length or is it a GT500 unit with gt500 bolt patern. Also the 3.7 water pipe to the back of the heads, what did you do with that,,rerouted?

Aren't the 3.7L motors already pretty stout with forged components? What would you think the weak link would be once going for bigger numbers?

From my research they were supposed to be built along the lines of what the 5.0 is built to. Same type of rods and pistons with a forged crank. The only boosted failure I have heard of was a procharger unit that was north of 600 flywheel. wrist pins gave out. He is doing a whole Manley Forged kit that will take whatever he throws at it. Given the weight difference these cars, v6 or not are going to be nasty.

I'm going to pick up a ingot dub edition 3.7 later today, I may be interested in being a test car if you need one? It's a 3.31 geared automatic roush exhaust as only mods.

Well, as long as you're wanting to put your track and show days on hiatus for a season, and drop it off in Louisiana...

Any idea when you will be able to "test" one of these set ups? I think the 3.7 is a very capable engine and with a PD blower it will provide outstanding HP torque and fuel economy when needed.

Also, any more pics? :naughty1:
