Scott I would be honoured to make some of the first passes. As long as you jump in the driver seat after we get it all set up :beerchug2:

I know you still have the drag racing blood in ya, you were drag racing when they didn't print time slips :thumb2:

Matt fantastic! It sounds like a solid plan, but where oh where am I going to find a helmet large enough to fit my fat head? LOL

What did the stall cost ya? I'm shopping around for ideas for my build and what's the pro and cons of that converter ?

Ordered the converter from Chris Sehorn, it was $1,100 with free shipping. Circle D Specialties Facebook page indicates they were on for 5% off with free shipping on their Black Friday Sale (Nov 22nd – 27th).
For me based on forum research, it was Circle D Specialties followed by Precision Industries as the converter of choice. However, I do not have firsthand experience with either company.

Ordered the following from Tousley Ford:

- Ford OEM Cam Followers (24), 3L3Z-6564-BA
- Ford OEM Lash Adjusters (24), 5L1Z-6500-A

and made a tool to install the ATI Damper from a 6" length of M12 x 1.5 threaded rod, a M12 washer, a thick 1/2" - 2" diameter flat washer, 3 M12 x 1.5 nuts and a INA D1-HLA Bearing (needless to say done for a lot cheaper than the 303-102 Ford Tool):

Closely following tmcolegr’s build thread - a trip to Napa, Home Depot and Lowes provides all the parts required to assemble a Pressure Tank System to pre-lube the engine.

I plan on pre-lubing the engine twice, once during assemble on the engine stand and again once the engine is installed in the car.

When the engine is in the car I will be pressurizing the lubrication system by tapping into my Shelby Performance Parts Oil Pressure Gauge Adapter Kit (part number 5S3Z-9B339-SC).

S2010062.jpg

The adapter block is feed from the OEM Oil Pressure Sensor Port which is after the oil filter.

S2010064_zps7f94deb3.jpg

Because I am injecting the pre-lube oil after the oil filter and as suggested in tmcolegr’s thread I included a 12 microns fuel filter as part of the pre-lube system. The pre-lube configuration consists of the following parts:

- Napa ¼” inlet and outlet Gold Fuel Filter, part number 3001
- WATTS 3/8” Barb x 3/8” MIP Hose Adapter, part number A-294 (Pressure Tank Hose to Shut Off Valve)
- WATTS ¼” Barb x ¼” MIP, part number A-192 (Pre-luble tube to Oil Block Adapter)
- WATTS ¼” Barb x 3/8” MIP, part number A193 (Shut Off Valve to Pre-lube Hose)
- WATTS ¼” I.D. x 3/8” O.D. x 10’, Clear Vinyl Tubing, part number SVGE10
- Aqua Dynamic 3/8” Ball Valve, part number 1107-002 (Oil Flow On / Off Valve)
- RL Flo-Master Sprayer 2 Gallon Translucent White Polyethylene Tank (Clearly would have preferred a 1 Gallon Tank, but try finding one in January)
- Loctite 567 Thread Sealant

Thanks for the good wishes on the build!

If you have OEM fuel rails you may be looking for one of these by Metco.

As a goal I would like to have a complete long block ready to do the engine swap and keep the original engine as intact as possible. To that end over the last month or so I have sourced the following used OEM parts:

• Oil Pickup Tube with the Spacer and Bolts
• Windage Tray
• Dipstick and Tube
• Crankshaft Rear Main Seal Retainer Plate and Bolts
• Left and Right Motor Mounts with Bolts
• Knock Sensors with Bolts
• Coolant Tube
• Front Timing Cover with Bolts
• Crankshaft Position Sensor with Bolt
• Camshaft Position Sensors(2) with Bolts

Still looking to buy a Coolant Crossover and VCT Solenoids.
