I am working on rebuilding my rear end. Currently looking at new axles. I found that there are 31 spline axles for the 7.5 dif. And to use these axles i would most likely need an 8.8 dif gear kit since i cant seem to find a 31 spline 7.5 dif kit. Would i need to upgrade anything else if i got these axles? Perhaps the driveshaft?

Uh, how do you propose fitting that 8.8" diff in the 7.5" housing? Also, the 8.8" ring and pinion?

You need a complete 8.8 rear end. Probably cheaper to swap than to try building a 7.5 anyway

Where did you find 31 spline axles? Or did you find 28 spline 31" axles?

I'm pretty sure he meant 28 spline and 31 inch bc 7.5 is 28and 8.8 is 31 spline

Please, just buy a 8.8 for $400 or so and be done with it.

8.8's can be found without too much searching. I picked up a new'ish, sub 250 miles, 8.8 out of a GT500 for $450. Had considered going 7.5 auburn w/3.73's but that was looking to be an expensive proposition. Sold the 7.5 after the swap for $200
