Thank you so much. There's times where I miss it, but a good 2nd gear pull in the coyote makes up for it. I actually got the wheels at American Muscle. I like how the face of the wheels was still machined but the barrels and he insides of the spokes were black. I caught them on clearance. $400~ for all for wheels. Tired I sourced from my dealership.

Good deal. I'm trying to pick the the silver AMR staggered setup from AM. I just need to sell these 19" luster nickels with Bridgestone Potenzas first.

You might have better luck getting 245/45-18 and 275/40-18 in the same tire make/model.

The diameter differences from 255/45 and 285/40 work out to be about 3/8", or about 3/16" more lowering and 3/16" more tire to fender clearance (which you probably won't ever notice without using a steel tape or other measuring device). Technically, you should inflate these slightly smaller tires about 1 psi higher than you would the 255/285 combination, which in turn might not want exactly the same inflation pressures as your OE tires.

A 255-45-18 and a 285-40-18 are both 26.97" diam. A 275-40-18 is def smaller diam vs either a 255-45-18 / 285-40-18.

You can get Nitto NT-555-G2 in any of these sizes. A square setup is nice, then you can rotate. I used to run a 10" rear /9" front...but recently swapped the 9" fronts from 9" to 10". IMO, unless you are lying on your stomach, you can't even see the stagger. I believe the K springs lower aprx 1.5".... which is a bit much for the front. I'd opt for the P springs..with their 1" drop.

Whatever wheels you get, make sure to get the correct offset. 30mm for a 9" rim. 42-45mm for a 10" rim. Most of these 10" rims that are listed as ..'rear only' will easily fit the front in most cases.

My point is that after lowering, the difference in tire diameter will be harder to notice.

I'm going to stay out of any discussions of offsets chosen with appearance as the main basis.

I have 18x10 square setup with 275/40-18 and there is definitely more fender gap than with my old 18x9 255/45-18 setup. I never looked at the tire diameter when I got them.

A 275-40-18 on a 10" rim is 26.66" diam. A 255-45-18 on a 9" rim is 26.97 diam. (.309" difference). ( a 285-40-18 on a 10" rim is also 26.97 " diam).

I'm betting that imagination and maybe wheel offset and tire tread width differences had something to do with that.

If your old 255/45-18's were more worn than about halfway to the wear bars, they would have been very close to the diameter of new 275/40-18's and had the same "fender gap".

Did you also notice the 0.15"-ish lowering that the new tires gave you?

Perhaps it was a combination of those factors. I went from Conti DW to Nitto 555, I don't know if there is much difference in manufacturers sizes. I'm on K springs and there is only about 1.5 inches gap.
I didn't say a major difference, but it was noticeable. I also immediately noticed my speedometer was off from my GPS by about 2 mph at 75 mph than previously. So yes, there was a difference that I noticed, no imagination involved. Lol
