Hey fellas,

I'm wanting to purchase a helmet I can use for drag racing. Preferably full face with a shield. What are your recommendations? The current safety rating is SA2015 correct?

Jegs and summit both have the standard wh- 200$ free shipping and they are good to 2025 or 2027- mine fits nice and is comfortable.

Racequip matt black SNEL 2015. Full face clear shield. Best bang for the buck I found and fit as nice as a BEL I also tried on. Was under $200. They make it in Gloss Black, Matte Black, and White and maybe other colors but I don't know. It is HANS (sp?) compatible also. If you are like me and prefer to not advertise brand, all of the labels on the helmet peal off cleanly.

GEFORCE was a better fitting single layer jacket if you are looking. I liked it better than the simpson. Felt freer in it.

If you decide to go used, SNEL2010 is the oldest you can use and still be safety compliant. Most tracks do check for this these days. A helmet is only good for ten years before it has to be outdated for track use and replaced based on the SNEL date.

I got a M2010 scorpion exo-r410 for $65ish from newenough. They sell new old-stock stuff for bikes. But I just needed something with a snell 2005 sticker on it, to take my stock <13.99 ET car to a test and tune.

I bought a snell 2010 GEFORCE for around $120 that's been fine. My track checks religiously for the damn sticker.

I currently have a HJC CL-16 Hellion. M2010/Snell2010 helmet. About $90 at a local bike store.

As stated, unless you are needing a cage in the car, using a cooling system, need to use HANS, etc. no need to spend the coin on a $300 helmet. The Snell standards update every 5 years, and most sanctions allow no older than 10 year old standards. This will help you save money now, and then double down later if necessary.

I bought a new Conquer helmet from Amazon two years ago for $140, but for some reason even the SA2010 versions are marked up now. G Force is another budget friendly brand too. The sub $200 ones will be good enough to pass tech at NHRA tracks as long as the certification is less than 10 years old, as mentioned.

Any brands listed here (and even the others that aren't listed) will pass tech if it's at least a SA2010.

At 9.99 I believe you'll need an NHRA license, a 10 point cage, SFI crank damper, and other stuff I'm forgetting. More than just a full face helmet.
