Brembo build issue

I finally pieced together my brembo setup, 4 piston calipers and 2 piece front rotors I got for cheap, began my install and realized I'm missing the pad retaining clips, ordered them from ford but it seems as though the pins that hold the pads up are too short, and the retaining clip is too long. Are there other brembo brakes out there made by ford that would take a different clip?

That's certainly not a factory ford coating on it, so hopefully they were done afterwards and not from another car. Lots of cars use that same style caliper. Are you positive it's from a S197 mustang?

They were re-powdercoated to that current color, the back does have the markings FoMoCo Brembo. Don't think any other Fords came with Brembos though right?

What was the part number on the kit that you got from Ford? That way we can confirm that they supplied the right thing for what the calipers should be.

2B164 is just the basic Ford number for an anti-rattle clip. What's the rest of the number, was it 7R3Z 2B164 A, or DR3Z 2B164 A? The 7R3Z would be correct for the Brembos to go on the 14" rotors.

It just says 2B164 on the fordparts website, nothing else on there, it's listed as being a part on the 07 GT500 which has the 4 piston brembo brakes with a 14" rotor. I also tried autozone, advance auto and all of the parts were the same.

Centric 117-46021 is the correct clip/pin hardware kit for the 4 piston BREMBO's.

Didn't you get an invoice and a package though that show the full Ford part number?? Just trying to confirm that you got the right thing.

If all the other sources show the same thing, then it sounds like those calipers aren't what they're supposed to be. You may have to try to connect with someone locally with a Boss or 07-12 Shelby to compare your calipers with the proper ones for verification.

Montreal Qc,
7R3Z-2B164-A is the oem part number. You need 2 kits (1 per caliper).
They can be found for around $23 per kit.

What other brembo brakes would've been on a ford vehicle? They bolted up to the car and everything, it's just these darn pins.

Why don't you post a pic of the issue with the pins?
On mine the pins do not stick out either side.
You need a pin punch to get them in and out.
I believe that the hole diameter may have been altered by the powder coating.
Here is a how to with good photos
Tell us if your pins look like that.

Flip the clip ... The spring action is what holds the pads down.
