Stock Wheel Purchase Question

Normally I would PM this... but on the off chance others are wondering, I figured I would start a new thread.

I have summer time max performance tires on my Mustang. So, basically, for 3 months out of the year, the car hooks like a beast, but 9 months out of the years, the traction varies between "sucks" and "dangerous". Due to this, I have been thinking about replacing the tires with all season's so I can drive it year round. I don't want to take the summer time tires off the rims, because I will mount them in the summer.

If I PM you my VIN, would you be able to sell me vehicle specific factory replacement wheels? Would the VIN also tell you if there was a factory all-season tire option? If there was an all-season tire, I would like to stay true to factory parts if possible.

I am not 100% I am going to go this route, but knowing prices and options will help me make the decision.

Thanks,
Spaz

I hope he can get a good deal for ya. stock wheels tend to be pretty damn pricey when buying new

I noticed. Almost $2,000 each off the Ford Racing site. Ouch...

Feel free to PM me or post your VIN here, nothing anyone can do with a VIN other than look up parts.

We'll see what options we can come up with.

Cool. Its 1ZVBP8JZ7D5282921.

Thanks, that is an expensive set of wheels. Your cost for the full set would be $4437.00 plus shipping.

As for all seasons, no, no factory option.

Now if you were willing to go to a different wheel we could do this 19x9/19x10 staggered set from FRPP for $1430.00 and it includes TPMS sensors although they aren't the GT500 specific high speed capable sensors.

Obviously there's the entire aftermarket world to look at as well.

Actually, the $4,437 is not as bad as I expected. a bit more than $1,000 a wheel is half of what I have seen. I am going to give it some serious thought. I will let you know in a few weeks.

I really prefer to stay with the factory original part numbers for this car. I have seen 2013-2014 GT500's that are unmolested and low miles auctioning at ridiculous numbers. A few weeks ago I saw a 13 hard top with about 2,000 miles on it sell for $385,000. A few days ago, I read a recent BJ auction had a stock 14 Vert with something like 12 or 14 miles sold for over $500,000.

Just today I had someone offer me $100,000 for the car. I told him $400,000, but he said he wouldn't go over $280.000. I know the guy and know he has the cash. I just don't want to sell the car and if/when I do, I want to be one of the owners that calls in $400k-$500k. Adding aftermarket parts is not on the to-do list.

I'm surprised to here that. I have 3 Ford dealers calling on the regular basis asking me to sell it to them. All 3 tell me they have customers lined up, but they can't find them.

Not sure if serious...

13-14 GT500s are all over cargurus for under $60K.

I'm 100% serious. These cars are selling for big money. And there can't be too many for sale out there. They only made 4,843 in 2013 (296 in black, which I have) and under 6,000 in 2014 (can't find an official number. last car I can find is #5,685).

I'm not doubting what you are saying marc, I just don't understand those prices.

Why would someone pay north of 6 figures when right now, there are 118 2013/14 GT500s on Cargurus.com alone, and almost every single one that has a price listed is <$60K.

:headscratch:

Not really able to answer that question. I almost don't care. LOL if someone is willing to offer me close to $300k for my car... there is either not a flush market or there is something special about my car.

My father in-law said this car was 1 of only 4 black 2013 GT500's with black ghost stripes. I never vetted that, but it may be worth looking into. I personally have never seen another one, but with only a few hundred black ones floating around, I'm not shocked.

I hear ya man. True, the black on black combo is defintely rare. I have only seen one in person myself, and it was on the 07-09 body style. That's a great looking color combo.

I think you're getting a little carried away with what your car is worth OP. I'm sure you could still get 50-60K for it all day, but you're talking super exotic numbers.

Last available 2014 GT500 Convertible and proceeds went to a charity - $500,000

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Medi...-association-of-america-at-hot-august-nights/

Vin #001 2013 GT500 just sold at Barret Jackson for $308,000. That's vin #001, not just a random production GT500

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2013-FORD-SHELBY-GT500-SERIAL-001-178670

GT500 from the movie Need for Speed - $200,000

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/2013-SHELBY-GT500-COBRA-FASTBACK-139311

One of a kind all white GT500 for a charity - $150,000

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/2013-SHELBY-GT500-FASTBACK-139312

Here's a pre-production prototype that was actually driven by Carrol Shelby before he passed. Literally a one of a kind 2013 and it only sold for $99,000.

Unless your car meets this kind of criteria, I'd expect to get the 50-60K that every other 2013-2014 basic GT500 is selling for. If someone offered you anything over $100,000 they're a fool and you should take their money and laugh on the way to the bank. Deposit $50k and go buy another 2013/2014 off a dealer lot.

Hell my car is 1 of 4 vapor silver convertibles built in 2009 with the upgraded black and red leather interior, and it's a stripe delete car on top of that. I still paid low 30's for it with only 9,000 miles on it just last year.
