I picked up a set of 18x8 and 18x9.5 inch wheels and i am looking for tires for just everyday driving - aka street shoes since i have a set for the track.

Been struggling with what a good size would be for a staggered set. I know that 235/50/18 is what the stock size is. Current thoughts are:

1. 225/40/18 fronts with 255/40/18 rears

Anyone have a staggered set on 18's on a 3V??

Thanks.

The sizes you're looking at are really short. 235/50 up front and 275/45 out back on your wheel size

Look in the review section on AM. It lists the tire sizes so youll have the same sidewall height.

Is the car lowered, or stock ride height? If it's lowered a bit and the fender gap isn't bad, look at 245/45R18 and 275/40R18 which are about 1/4" shorter than the stock size. Very common sizes with many choices, the diameters match front and rear, and they will fit your wheel widths comfortably.

cheers

You could even go 255/45R18 and 285/40R18 which were the stock sizes on the early GT-500. Less common sizes though, and fewer choices. Not sure what your budget is or what performance level you want, but Continental does offer their excellent Extreme Contact Sport in those sizes.

You can get those sizes in a nitto NT-555 G2, and I think also a MPSS.
