I'm finally coming down the home stretch restoring a 2008 Premium Coupe, but while cleaning some adhesive residue from the dash panel between the A/C vents, I used 70% alcohol and it stripped off some of the paint, which is a flat charcoal gray with weird sparkly bits in it.

It looks terrible with this sort of smeared lighter gray oval smack dab in between the vents.

I don't want to make the problem worse by experimenting. Anybody have any luck with touching this stuff up, or at least making it darker without adding any gloss?

Thanks!

CtCarl,

I hopped on YouTube and typed in "painting a dashboard black" and there are quite a few videos (some more general like interior trim painting) that should be helpful. A detailer's website should have what you need, too. Maybe some of our site vendors have videos of rehabbing dashes?

HTH,

Chris
