Silicone caulk instead of grout is a crappy shortcut used by crappy installers. It looks good for a couple years until water eventually gets behind it then it discolors, ripples and looks like crap.

Tile is a real PITA to keep clean in a shower. Flooring is fine. I would love to rip our shower out and put a one piece bottom in.

I totally used that shortcut to fix the cracking grout in my bathroom before selling my townhouse. $6.00 for silicone and 30 minutes of my time. :party52:

I agree, which is why I want the solid surface stuff for the shower walls. Tile on the shower floor isn't too bad, but the walls would be a pain to keep clean. I am still considering re-using the fiberglass base and going solid surface walls.

This is why darker tile colors are popular for showers these days. White tile is fine if you have a maid cleaning it once or twice per week but for us normal people the dark colors work better.

We got the Clear to Close message on this beauty.

My favorite part is the 3-car garage with 10ft ceilings.

We got the message that we are confirmed for our closing on Monday on our new place in Winston-Salem.

That's great but for weeks now I have been asking for the final numbers so I can get the cashier check. AND reminded everyone I am coming in from Michigan and do not have a local bank yet so need the numbers no later than today.

Soooooooo, ready to close and still don't have the final documents to review. They said there is a problem and they will take care of the them on Sunday and get them to me.

I reminded them that does me no good - no way I can get the cashier check on Sunday. Guess we will get a check based upon preliminary numbers and if it is too much then they will give me a check back, and if not enough then they will either accept my personal check or give me the wire instructions so I can call my bank in Michigan to make the transfer. It's almost like no one was listening to me on the phone or in emails the last 3 weeks.

Congrats and it will work out. Welcome to NC home of sweet tea and BBQ

Been in our new home for about 4 days now. Bought new furniture, fixing random things and after a nightmare with a paint mixup I think things are slowly getting back to normal for me.

After: new grey paint. Going to be getting some display cases for my diecast car collection along with all car stuff down here.

mounted tv on wall in living room and added some new furniture. Painting this room next week.

We started looking for something further out in the country as we might be moving soon.

Congratulations, it's a good looking house that only needs a bigger garage. (The garage can never be too big!)

I concur....

I've been looking for a large garage (~3000 sqft) with a smaller house (~2500 sqft) attached but nobody builds them that way!

Most homes around here are 3500 to 5000 sqft with 400 to 600 sqft garages, 2 or 3 car respectively, which, are barely large enough for the cars let alone anything else.

We found an airplane hangar on 5 acres that has been converted into a 2800 sq ft 2 story home and 10 car garage. We are going to look at it monday, cant wait.
