Figured I'd start a build thread just to track my progress over time. Most of this is going to be carried over from my instagram @kallar68x but I'll try to post higher res pics as I get them.

So obviously its a 7 year old car with a decent amount of miles so it had some wear and tear. I went ahead and ordered a new steering wheel assembly complete with buttons and trim off ebay, and driver seat upholstery from Ford ($$$) and got a new key cut and programmed because unfortunately it only came with one. Also gave her an oil change with a complete switch to Mobil1 synthetic since I had no idea how long it had been since the last change. And lastly on the refurb end of thing I ordered a billet aluminum shift knob to replace the worn down leather one it came with.

I promised myself I'd drive the car for at least 3 months before going crazy with mods but of course the weekend I buy it there's a huge labor day sale on multiple sites. I was able to get an oem boss 302 splitter and I also got hood struts because I always regretted not having them on my last car.

I had some LED's left over from when I bought a bunch of random ones in bulk so I put them to good use and converted the map and reverse lights. Eventually I'll also do the license plate and trunk lights as well.

So yeah, that's all for now, like i said probably 3 months until anything exciting happens unless i find some killer deals locally. Until then just enjoying the ride!

Here's the first round of mods complete. LOVE the modern billet knob, sounds stupid but makes shifting so much easier versus the stock one.

SVE hood struts, modified the passenger side bracket to accept the washer nozzle hose clips. Also got a blowfish racing sound tube delete, my frpp sport axle backs are plenty enough without the artificial sound.

Got the boss 302 street splitter installed, also put in some 6000k HID on the headlights and fogs, I know I know, HIDs in a halogen housing suck, I know. I'm working on a set of retrofits to fix that.

Finally got around to some DIY stuff. Painted my coil pack covers in Ford blue. Looks similar to the oem boss 302 covers but a shade lighter which I actually prefer.

I think they pop nicely against the red without looking too tacky.

Also picked up a bobs autosport oil separator. The original bracket mounts it to the shock tower. Didn't like that so I made a few measurements and made my own bracket to mount it to the firewall. I was able to mount it without drilling into the car reusing one of the holes for a push pin that holds on the cowl.

I have billet hose separators on the way to clean up the routing. Overall very happy with it vs the original location.

What she's looking at after 1000 miles of ownership, nothing really changed exterior wise. Really need to get the grille paint matched but I'm waiting to get gt/cs side scoops to do it all at once.

and lastly I got an AntennaX shorty antenna, really wish they hadn't put one into the quarter but I like how this one mimics the oem shape.

Oh and a buddy gave me his old steeda plate frame, it was all faded so I repainted it, hooray for boredom.

Match paint the grille? Car looks pretty damn good being 7 years old.

The factory over the top stripe I always thought looked badass, so it is weird to see this without it. Paint matching the grill would make the front end pop though I agree about that.

Yes paint match the surround so it will appear like the factory boss 302 or gt/cs grille

I agree, the rwb stripes and the windshield banners are the only part of the package I liked. Previous owner removed the stripes so nothing I can do now. I probably wouldn't have bought it if it still had the stripes since I wouldn't have had it in me to remove all the rest of them.

I'm probably going to go with the boss 302 hood stripe and decklid blackout to accent the glass roof

Congrats on a really good looking car. I normally change things out to make it my style of car but with all the history of that car I think I would have to leave it just as it is.

Already been changed so no going back, plus no intention of ever selling so no point in preserving it for the next guy.

I'm going by manufactured date not model year. It was built in early 2010 so it's getting on 7 years.

Just followed you on IG. Looks good bud!
You did? I didn't get notified, what's your username on there?

Thanks everyone, it's far from perfect, has some pretty bad factory paint swirling I need to have addressed.

On another note I won a ridiculous deal on ebay. Don't want to jinx it so I'll post it when it arrives.

Wow long time since I updated this.

Got a BBK 85mm throttle body. No big hp gains here but I felt like it gave a smoother pickup and idle is unchanged.

Got a steal on a steeda cold air. Painted the heat shield black, still need to oil the filter.

Picked up a set of brembo front calipers and stop tech drilled and slotted rotors. The rotors weren't coated so I painted them myself as well as the calipers. Unfortunately the roush wheels don't clear the big brakes so they're on hold for now.

Test fitted a set of 18x9 fr500s to see if I'd like the look of black wheels and sold myself on them.

Got lucky and found someone selling a 2011 gt/cs grille on Craigslist. Plan on painting the chrome bit Satin black, removing the tribar emblem and maybe putting in an original gt front emblem.
