Hi I'm new here, but a member on pretty much every forum anywhere.
This is my dream car and I couldn't be more excited.

Purchased my first mustang when I was 17. 2006 v6 auto with 27k miles.
Traded it in October 1st for my 2009 GT500, black on black with factory HID's Shaker 1000 and grey stripes.
Purchased through my dealership (I sell Ford's in Omaha) through Fowlerville Ford in Michigan. They let it go for a very, very reasonable price..

v6 when I traded it:
BC Racing Coilovers, Cali Spec front and rear bumpers, cervini 4" cowl, SVE Drift 19x9.5 Wheels, 275/45/19 Conti DWS, CAI and tune, GT H-pipe and straight pipe duals, latemodelresto leather, Pioneer Appradio double din, blacked out lights, cervini rear decklid, etc etc. Also ran nitrous for a couple years, 8.8 in the 1/8th mile was my best time.

Car when it arrived October 9th:
2.9" Metco Pulley, JLT 127mm Carbon Fiber intake, unknown brand short-throw shifter, Kooks LT Headers, Kooks Catted X Pipe, Borla Touring mufflers.
Everything else was factory.
Also had a second set of Shelby CS70 Wheels w/ MPSS that I'm still trying to sell....

First mods happened 4 days later.
Shelby Badge relocation
Tinted Tails, 3rd brake light, Side markers, and front turn signal housing installed, as well as LED Switchbacks in the turns.
Koni Orange Shocks and struts w/ Steeda Sport Springs. (Eliminated factory wheel hop)
Scott Drake Adjustable Sway Bar Links
BMR Adjustable Panhard bar.
Pioneer AppRadio Double Din installed
Shaker 1000 sub removed, Aftermarket JL sub and customer spare tire well box added
Windows tinted 15%
Factory stripes removed (Except for the rocker panel stripes)
Escort Passport Radar Detector

Now has GT500 KR Mufflers, and BC Racing rear coilover springs and perch.

Also had it at the track, where it ran a 9.22 @ 89.75 in the 1/8th on bald GY F1's, with 0 driver mod, temps in the 40's.

Dyno results follow as well: AFR's are allllll over the place. I expect to pick up another 20-30 HP when I get a VMP tune loaded.

And an exhaust video:

Future Plans:

Current plan is to concentrate on aesthetics and suspension, then shoot for 600rwhp on the stock supercharger before the trinity swap.

VMP Tune
HRE FF15's w/MT Street Comps once I sell the CS70's
New pads and rotors
Radials on OEM Wheels
Radar Detector Blend-mount
Rear seat delete, and new, easy-to-remove sub box
AirRide suspension
BMR LCA's UCA's and Relo Brackets
3.73's and Welded axle tubes
Trinity S/C Swap
Afco Heat Exchanger
Speed of Sound Gauge pillar w/ gauges

And once winter hits, it will spend about a month in the garage getting a full paint correction, and 5-6 coats of Igreenlover Ceramic Coating.

Nice ride! KR mufflers sound fantastic. I wish they repackaged that muffler for a 2011+ GT500.

I think your next mod should be a new vanity plate. :beerchug2:

Planning on keeping the NOTAV8 for the laughs, until I'm bagged. Then I'm planning on "BAGGINS"

Because I'm a LOTR nerd :p

You're not going to like the Street comps on a gt500. Dismount the MPSS, sell the CS70s, mount MPSS on new wheels. Pin the axle tubes, don't weld them. VMP heat exchanger, not afco. Fixed all your mistakes (won't get into the bags :) )

Good advice, I haven't 100% decided on brands and such yet.

Why do you say mpss over the street comps? I want 19's so I'll still wind up selling this set.

Also why pinned axle tubes over welded?

Nice car and congrats!
But your next mod should be a set of jack stands!! Bricks? Really? You have a Shelby sitting on bricks...I think there is a law against that!

I traded off my 06 and had it on stands in the garage. I put all the oem shelby suspension on the v6 to trade it in, so they both had to be up in the air at the same time.

Haven't quite invested in 2 sets of stands because I never need them.. lol

Installed my BC Racing rear springs and perch today. Pulled the bump stops as well. Haven't gone for a test ride quite yet, but I'm happy with the ride height... can't wait until I'm bagged and can get rid of this static nonsense.

Before, Koni Orange w/ Steeda Sport Springs

Spring comparison, as you can see I don't have the rear dropped as low as possible, as I don't want to be smacking the bumpstop rest every time I hit a bump or accelerate. I may wind up having to go a bit higher, we will see.

Another vote against the Street comps. I ran those for a short while on my GT500, notice I said "short". They are probably fine on a NA GT, but for a torque monster they are absolutely horrible. I highly recommend a drag radial or if you are really wanting a street tire go with MPSS.

I would skip the 600+ on stock blower plan and just go straight to the TVS, but that is just me. I picked up over 6mph in the 1/4 with just a Trinity TVS swap (no TB, stock pulley) and that was coming from a 2.5 pulley, intake, and tune. The Trinity's can be found for under 1.5k.

Good luck with the build, look forward to it!

Yeah, you have longtubes and other stuff done to the car already, a TVS will probably put you over 650 rwhp

My GF's Shelby is now at 643/608 without longtubes (see my sig for her mods)
(this was on a Dynojet, not a Mustang dyno which reads lower)

As far as a tune, I'd probably recommend somebody like Lethal Performance or Evolution Perf, both companies race their GT500's and do great with them.
That's if you MUST do an e-mail tune.

I figure going for 600 on the stock blower until i do a trinity swap makes sense, because all the mods will carry over when I do the S/C swap.
I get the VMP gets me there faster, but either way it's all stuff I'll want anyways.

Wait are you planning a VMP blower or 5.8L trinity 2300 blower?

Not to shit on your thread, but first - clean your car. Please.

Second, never EVER sit the car down on some cheap ass landscaping stones. That is insanely dangerous. Jack stands are cheaper than amputations and funerals. I'm not being overly dramatic, either. Before you ask, cinder blocks and 2x4s are also inappropriate as jack stands.

Nice car. I have to wonder why it dynos 503/487 and runs 89 in the eighth though.

@quicksilver, not 100% sold on one over the other. Provably wind up doing the trinity, just didn't bother to slow down and type that out.

@46tbird, I said in the initial post I'm taking a good month to do a full detail and paint correction this winter when it's in the garage. Badges will come off, 5-6 coats of ceramic over the top, etc etc. I'll spend 2-3 hours per panel until it's flawless.

Also shitty time in the 1/8th because it was in the 40's temperature wise, I'd never dragged a manual before, and because bald goodyear f1's.
I spun through 1st and most of second, even at half throttle :/

Finally got around to taking a video of the new mufflers.
Kooks 1 3/4 LT's, Kooks Catted X, and GT500 KR Mufflers.

Really wanting an Offroad H, but am scared of how loud it will be with the KR's..... suggestions on a replacement for KR's when I find a new H Pipe?
