With the PC7424 you should be using the 5.5" pads. I'm still going to use them on the Flex so I don't have to buy pads, offer better maneuverability, and more cut.

I think when I bought mine I got some kind of a package deal that came with the 6.5" backing plate. I mean it's not horrible, but yeah, I can see the 5.5" being quicker and easier. I think I'll keep using the 6.5" for application purposes, but switch up to the smaller size for my aggressive pads.

Shopping now. . . .

tried reading this and just want to ask what I should get. I have a buffer so no need to worry about that.. But my car is two tone black and mineral grey.. Black is a pita as far as swirls and all the surface looking scratches... Probably using all the wrong products... So can I have a list of what I should get? from start to finish?

any interior suggestions?

Let me know!
Thanks for the help!

I get asked this question at least once a day in a PM lately. I'm not sure if it's in the sticky, but I'm going to put it there now, at least my version of what I think you need and what I use.

Nasty, please chime in as well in the sticky and give your opinions

Just ordered a whole bunch of stuff for my ride.

Porter Cable orbital buffer w/all pads
Snap on 1600 psi pressure washer
Mothers cali gold clay kit
meguiars deep crystal car wash
Meguiars no.7 polish
MXT 2.0 sealant
Meguiars #326 yellow wax
Diablo gel wheel cleaner
bunch of random shop towels, mitts, brushes and stuff like that :)

I'm going to do a pretty sweet detail job once I take her out of the garage and slap some parts on there (4.10's, cmdp's and pulleys)

I'm pretty fired up for spring time lol

More orders on late Friday night, I mean Saturday morning, if you know what I'm talking about.. Mwahaha! Winning!!

  • 5.5" Pads: Uber Green, Uber Yellow, Uber Orange (2), Uber Black (2)

Wasn't really planning on it - I don't really have swirl marks, but I guess you're right I should have something in the garage just in case I want to go that route. What do you recommend?
