I set mine to -3 degrees and I haven't had a problem
is your car lowered and did you have a problem before setting it at -3? this is good info, thanks.
what was the angle before setting it at -3?
Funny that you metion this becouse when I did my one peice shaft my trans and shaft are at 0* with the springs and all on my car , maybe this is why I dont have any vibs with mine.Something you may want to look at on the 1 piece is the trans / DS side of the driveline. I had a Jeep that I had to lower the tranny mount a 1/2 inch to fix that side too. The closer to a straight line you get everything, the better.
If you keep the stock 2 piece, lower the Center Bearing a 1/8" to 1/4" to take some of the angle out there as well.
i'm at +1 in the front and -2 in the back, with 4.10's the vibe is around 80mph. i'd be very happy to move it up to 105.
You'd probably have better luck at Lowe's or Home Depot. I know I've seen magnetic base angle finders at Lowes before.
0* is not the perfect angle if bearings didn't have to 'walk', or be lubed. Having 0 bearing walk can result in false brinelling, which will lead to premature bearing failure.
This is what I used for my setup. My shaft came from Axle-Exchange with no vibration problems.
