Fail Safe Mode

Anyone's car ever go into fail safe mode? Happened to mine a day after I washed my motor. So I think that's the problem. Thinking it might be the TPS sensor so I'm going to try changing that. Any other thoughts on what it could be? Or is it a list of things it could be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you use a pressure washer and spray the motor?

I usually do. But it messed up half way through. So I had to switch to a reqular water nozzle and just tried to be carefull with it.

most often that problem is the tps, not sure if water on the connector would cause that, but i guess it might. ive washed mine a few times over the years, never had any issues. we had a tps go bad and throw the fail safe. its cheap plastic inside that fits onto the butterfly shaft and the plastic gets wallowed out. the replacement has a metal clip inside thats a much better idea.

ive also had failsafe when my tb motor got jammed, but it also wouldnt run at all. it would start, just not drive.
