99-04 4.6 swap n a 05 v6

I can buy a running driving 01 gt for 1500 bucks. So my question is will it work other then the harness an computer? I have an 05 v6 5speed car. I tryed 2 do a search an find the answer I am looking for but no luck so sorry if there is already a thread out there about this

get a '05/06 4.6L for $1000-1200 instead. You'll still need all the stuff to install/mount it, including a transmission, even if you use the engine from the '01.

O I thought the motor mounts an all the other stuff was the same if I flipped my trans cross member over.

i would think the major obstacle would be the drive by wire on the new motors. as said just get a 3v itll be alot easier

Ok thanks thinkin a can go get this gt an drive it hone for 1500 bucks. So thought it might b worth it but guess not thanks a lot guys

It would probably be easier to put that engine in a fox....go buy you a junker fox and have a neat little project

How are you gonna emissions test it with an engine from an older car? The 2v is such a dog compared to modern engines, its not going to be much quicker than your v6. The v6 has some pretty strong internals, might as well boost it or swap to a 3v.
