Hi everybody
I am new to this forum and new to the protocol of blogging
so bear with me
but I need some HELP or just maybe some good advice
I own a 2009 V 6 convertible with the automatic trans
have added the Cold air intake and BAMA 91 octane tune
have dual exhaust from cats back
still have the factory cats because the car has less than 80 K on it
and was told not to replace them till after 80 K if I wanted to keep the factory warranty so I opted not to change them out for the high flow cats
I have the Pypes resonators
an H pipe and magnaflow mufflers
it has the 7.5 rear end with 2.73 gears

Okay now that you know all that, here is my problem
I purchased the cold air intake and tune package and was very disappointed in the outcome
they advertised that this tune would brake the tires loose off the line and shift hard enough to get second gear rubber
Well that did not happen
I don't notice a difference of much from the stock settings
was thinking about changing the gears to 3.73 and adding a Detroit locker posi unit
But I don't know

I would check out the Mustang collective. They specialize in 4.0L Tech

I have the 3.31s and the FRPP Procal Tune and can chirp second

I think you may have stepped off the train at the wrong stop. This topic might pass for a 'tech' discussion on Modded Mustangs but it sure as hell isn't a tech topic here.

Once again I proclaim my desire for a restriction on newbies preventing them from starting a thread in Tech until their post count reaches 50. We can restrict the classifieds, why not Tech?

Read the rules before you make a post, especially your first one.

Get a 2 cylinder mod if you want to burn rubber.

Lastly, get some thick skin, this isn't a kiddie forum, and if my comments offend you, well, I really don't give a shit. You could have saved yourself some flaming if you searched and read the rules instead of assuming this forum is like all the others.

what I want to know is should I expect more out of the combination of parts that I have or is this the best that it is going to do

The 4.0L really isn't that strong of a motor especially with the added weight of the convertible. Thats about it.

Welcome to the board... Don't post in tech for a bit until you get the feel for things, and stick around. Don't get all butthurt cuz folks are jacking with you.

This is by far the best Mustang forum I've been on. Stick it out and you'll see. You can overcome a really shitty first post.

no phd needed but common sense is, this isnt the fast and furious, your dealing with a group of people who have some pretty serious cars

You might want to get a v8 and a 5 speed. Rev it up and dump the clutch. It's bound to smoke something. Better break out some thick skin for this forum.
