I'm just a rookie and I'm close to the 11's club just need a little more practice and a good set of rubber.

Definitely get some sticky tires... the 60-foot time is holding you back!

Hey Don,
I know your the excell genius, a true spread sheet guru. I was wondering if there was some sort of calculator or calculation that showed what size DR's I would require if I was running 373's on a 17" rim. I want to make sure I dont run out of gear in the 1/4 what other variables would I need to calculate this?

Weight of car with driver: 3970 (car needs to go on a diet)
RWHP 480
Gears 355

Try this one: http://www.2005stang.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10330/RPM_vs_Speed~0.xls

Enter the tire size and gear ratio, and you can see how it effect rpm/speed.

Best to date... 12.583 @ 107.09

slip12583.jpg

Don, I did the multiplication of the 1/8 mile by 1.553 like you said somewhere else and came up with a 12.47 et, so i guess i need some more mph on the top end! I'm going to put the underdrive pulley on for sure now to get the lowest possible et while N/A. When the blower goes on, i'll have the shop put the stock on back on.

I am quite sure that with the UDP and the 4.10's it will be in the upper 12.3x's.

Not as fast as most of y'all, but with minor bolt-ons I think it is pretty good.

12.9 @ 108mph with FRPP shorties, Pypes Off-road H pipe, Stock mufflers, C&L Street Intake with a "canned" CnL 91 intake tune, and the stock 235/55/17 Pzero Nero tires.

Horespower/Torque numbers: 290rwhp/300ft-lbs on a Mustang Dyno.

The ratio of your 1/4 to your 1/8 is about 1.566. My average multiplier is indeed 1.553, but there is a standard deviation of 0.018, making a range of 1.535 - 1.571, and your times fit in that range.

That's a great time BTW!!

I was there watching that 12.58 run..

Best I could muster that night was a 12.66 @ 109.95

I ran a 7.64 @ 92.64 mph with a spinning 1.83 60'.

I looked at my time slip spread sheet and this is the best mph in the 1/8th for me---even though the car weighs 200lbs more then when I ran it with the 150 shot N20 -- (iron block, s/c, and the shaker 1000 back is probably 200lbs)--so the car has potential, just have to work out a couple of bugs, mainly the torque converter.

Don, what exactly is your torque converter doing?

Last night I spun the first pass, but then the second pass the car bogged, left the line slow, then took off. At first I thought I loaded in the wrong tune. Didn't you have something similar happen with your torque converter? Takes off good 1 pass, then lays down on another? I think I need to go with a PI converter--but its $1k!

My converter is doing a couple wierd things. First, it's not stalling at 3000 like it's supposed to. Second, it doesn't lock up when it's supposed to most of the time.

As far as the occasional bogging off the line, I've never been able to pinpoint the cause. But, it hasn't happened at all since I dropped down to the 10# pulley. So I can't say for sure it's the TC, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Like you, I guess I'll need to bite the bullet and get the PI someday... but not yet. Got a couple other things with more priority ahead of it.

Thanks Eduardo! I was wondering what the burnout looked like. Can't really tell from the vid, but that was the 7.64. I need to work on the combo to get out of the hole quicker---but the car felt strong down the track.

Last Sunday, Donna set a new low ET for my car on the 10psi pulley. It was really nice run all around!! :clap:

RT = 0.009
60' = 1.606
330' = 4.692
1/8 = 7.304
mph = 95.627
DA = 2,430

And on Saturday, she also laid down the quickest 60' time on 10# boost... 1.597 (on a 7.32 run).

It was the first pass.
