Hello everyone,

So as much of some of you all know

I have a 2005 Mustang GT with a M90 blower @ 8psi

I can't get the car to HOOK at all.

I am looking to get some new rubber

Buddy of mine got some
Mickey Thompson 28x12.5x15 ET Street Bias Ply

Are these good / fit on my car?

My rear end is lowered with Ford racing K spring (less then 1" drop)
And sway bar has been relocated due to (RTR sway bar)

Can anyone educate me a little?

Pretty much a stock 07 motor with a m90 blower
Rear end is 3.73

Any help would be great!

I currently run 13.1 @ 109 mph
Street tires up front (255/40/18 bfg)
Rear were bfg drag radial (295/35/18)

Thank you,

IMO that's too much tire for what u need. What's the rear suspension set up?

The tire may be a little bit of overkill for what I am guessing is about a 380-400 RWHP setup in 60 degree air. Height wise I would agree because of the 3.73 gear choice. Width wise however I would be more inclined to encourage you to look at a 28x11.50x15 wheel that would fit nicely on a 15x8 rim and NOT require relocation brackets for the rear sway bar. However if money is an object, and these 12.5's are a steel and come already mounted you would only need to spend $40 more bucks for relocation brackets from BMR and I would venture to say that with adding some Strange single rear adjustable shocks at $90 a piece your sit-n-spin days may well reduced allowing you to leave much harder. You may not even need to add the shocks.

I have been kicking around selling mt 17x9.5 rear darkstar setup with MT ET street R series 305/45/17's on them and going to the same 11.5x28x15 bias ply on a 15x8 as well in hopes of finding a little better 60ft at our local track which still is trying to learn the definition of "PREP".

Good luck.

Shan if they are Hienz's tires it's a good deal, but come with me to st Thomas this summer and we can work on it. I've cut a 1.56 60' with 17" radials stock shocks and less power then you there's prob something in your suspension or technique that be adjusted

K springs are 1.5 inch drop, I would leave the bias ply to the stick cars dedicated to track duty and stay drag radial if you street the car.
The BFG isn't a great tire and in that size your side wall just isn't helping out.
a 15x10 rear set up with either Mickey Thompson or even the Nitto 555r for a cheaper tire will hook better in a 275/60r15

Fordracing K spring
drag shocks
Bmr upper poly bushing arm w/ upgraded mount
UPR HD lower hem join arm
Relocation bracket
Pan bar
RTR sway bar
Pan bar brace

when you did the suspension work, did you verify the pinon angle at ~-2*?

have you messed with the settings on the shocks (adj I would think if they are drag) ?

What's your burnout and launch procedure? based on what you're set up is, there should be 1.7x 60's at least in the car.

Sadly the best i can do

13.1 with the car with a 2.0 60' at 109mph

Launch is around 3000rpm
burnout just slap it in 1st drop the clutch.

I can't do a burnout properly, so purchased a line lock this year.

Yes rear end pinion has been set

I also have a failing / fried diff so 1 wheel spinning as i see more rubber on the right bumper then the left.
car always want to go side ways.
Possible the rear shocks are shot, so switching them out this year.
Rebuilding the tlock and the axles with all new bearings + 3.73 gears.

well, IMHO, there's a lot more in your current set up, changing out the rubber is a waste before you get a few things down.

1) get the diff sorted and functioning properly
2) burnout 2nd gear and 55-60 MPH for 4-5 seconds
3) launch harder, 4000-4500 rpm minimum

this was with about 430 whp on 265/40/18 BFGs IIRC, 60' I don't recall, but would guess 1.7-1.8 area

Hmmmm, def need a bigger burnout
Tlock and rear end getting rebuilt for sure this year

Guess ill forget about getting tires
295 should be more then enough if that car is having no issue with 265.

believe it or not,I had them balanced and the guy pump it to 35psi.

at the track... i did a 14.7 (y) lol
Then someone suggested lowering it to 20psi I made it down to 13.5
Lower it down to 18 got it to hit 13.1 all day long (just around 10-12 passes)
But the wobble get me at around 100mph
