I'm running a GT500/C&R heat exchanger with dual fans, bought it from a member here actually.

Tuning with Lito

It's just a royal PITA.. Wife decided she may not like it so I may have one to sell sometime soon.

Lito is the MAN! He tuned my car too.

Hell yeah he is!! He's been great to work with and I'm going to use him for my other project when I get to that point.

There is a certain 65 fastback with a 3v that I'll be having him tune once it's done.

Results of shredding the belt:

Skipped a step somehow when I built the "Frankentensioner" and didn't trim the lower, maximum travel stops. This is what happened next:

1) not enough travel on tensioner, obviously, led to the belt being way too tight

2) the pulley hub started to "walk off" the blower shaft and, when it became misaligned, threw the belt around 4K RPMs

3) At or around the same time, the upper idler pulley came off but luckily stayed with the car

Today, I ordered a fresh set of Michelin Super Sport tires and tomorrow my Porterfield R4S brake pads arrive. Then, I just need to change the outer tie rods, install the Koni Str.T struts, have it aligned, install the trio of tubular rear control arms and she should be set for quite awhile.

Back on May 11th, the fitting that joined two hoses together ruptured and she went home on a wrecker truck.

This should’ve lasted longer than five years! Naturally, it runs underneath the intake and won’t be a quick fix. I’ve decided to change both fittings so this doesn’t happen again.

ICT billet fittings for the win

Going to tear it down tomorrow and hopefully it’s the last time until a built short block goes in.

Start to finish it took about 5.5 hrs to tackle the job.

Yes, that’s a wrench acting as a kick stand. If it’s works, it ain’t stoopid

All of this to put hoses together without worry.

SMH.

Changed the snout coupler and the crankcase oil while I was in there.

Took the motor off the TB, reset the spring and it works.

For now.

I'd suggest a little penetrating oil and an Impact Tool. Straight torque obviously isn't working.

Fast forward to this week, another piece of the Prochamber came off and started to bounce around in there. The plan is to replace it with an x-pipe and then switch the MAC axleback out for some MBRP street mufflers.

So, today was fun. Damn gremlins tried to shred the belt. Initial assessment looks like the ac compressor harness connector came loose and was pulled under the belt. Shredded two ribs closest to the engine and demolished the harness connector. Luckily we noticed immediately due to the belt slapping the piss out of anything in its way and the AC stopped. We limped it back to Reed’s house to get his truck.

Fucking Mustangs!!

After getting the car home this evening, I popped the hood to let it cool off and to take a closer look for damages. Quickly discovered one of the alternator bolts was missing so the damn thing went on a walk.

This evidently allowed the belt to walk enough to begin the self destruct sequence. When enough of it begging flapping around it beat the crap out of the AC compressor harness which explains that.

Well, except for the VCT solenoid that I suspect is causing some phaser knock on the passenger side. Sucker sounds like a total bucket right now.
