Local Tracks:
Heartland Park Topeka
Mid-America Motorplex (Omaha)
Hallett (Tulsa)
Motorsports Park Hastings (Never been, but intend to try it this year)
Kansas Speedway? (New infield road course as of last year, but not sure if they are doing 'public' events on it yet)

Used to do 8-10 events per year, but that's dwindled to a couple the last few years. New GT now though, so plan on picking it back up a little.

NASA and SCCA

Pit Raceway (was Beaverun), Summit Point, Mid-Ohio, Nelson Ledges

Yellow 2006 GT, no. 93
soon to be TTC

Summit Point guys: does any one have lap times for what a 'street' S197 can turn there?

I was just there this last weekend (Hyperfizzle 2014 yo!!). My car is OEM stock (not even a CIA) with 93 octane tune, nitto NT555 street tires (275/35-18) on all 4. Brake ducts + Hawk HTC-60's and high temp fluids all around (engine oil, trans, brake fluid, Power steering ect...). My best lap time was 1:30.4.

I bet with race tires, good shocks / springs / sway bars, LSD, and CC plates it would be possible to get down into the 1:25 to 1:26 range. ...and with the new 5.0 engine even faster than that.

Club: No affiliation.

Track: Watkins Glen International is less than 1 hour drive time.

Been around WGI several times at less than 55 MPH (BOOO!!!). Hopefully going to be able to start HPDE next spring. Building a house kinda F'ed up my previous plans to already have 3-4 seasons of track time by now.

No Clubs.

I go to Summit Point frequently (average once a month) for Drift Nirvana, but I usually stick to the skid pad and spectating.

Hopefully, I'll be signing up for the other NASA events soon.

The kart track autox is a blast, there are typically just as many non-miatas crashing the party as there are miatas. When I sold mine about 2 months ago I was leading the stock class, but the non-miatas just sort of get thrown together so I'll probably get beat by one of the two GT-R's.
