We implemented some new rules to help protect the members from scammers. There is now two requirements that have to be met that will happen over time by being an active member, then the system automatically gives you the ability to post in the classifieds. Like I said, it's just put in place to give new members time to build credibility with the other members before trying to sell parts. You will still be able to post in the WTB area if you are looking for a part.

Qualifications to be allowed to post in the classified section are not posted by intent. Don't ask, we won't tell.

Also, please follow these rules or ads will be deleted!

1. Post a pic of YOUR part you are selling, not some factory or internet catalog pic!

2. In the pic, your screen name must be written on paper and laying with the item being sold, so we know it is YOUR item and not someone elses pic you are trying to use as your own.

3. Location! No location, no sale ad!

4. Please include the model year that the part is for

5.DO NOT ASK FOR PAYPAL FEES TO BE PAID! Add it to your price if you are worried about it, but it's in the TOS of paypal that you CANNOT ask the buyer to cover these fees. Here it is:4.6 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

Ok guys. As you know, we all work on the honor system here. The only way we have to rate people on transactions is via iTrader. You will see the link under the persons user name. By filling out the iTrader ratings everyone will be able to see "feedback" for transactions people are involved with on the board.

So remember to give people an iTrader rating at the end of your transaction!

Consolidated Rules Summary

S197Forum.com and/or it's staff does not and will not assume any responsibility for anything posted in the Mustang S197 Classifieds forum. This Classifieds forum is offered for the sole use of our members for private-party personal transactions, and any buying, selling or bartering is done so at the user's own risk.

Also, members are allowed to sell items that are used off their cars, or parts you decided not to put on, but if you are selling mass amounts of items or making parts and selling them, you need to be a vendor. Pm Kimmer to find out details of vending. Any posts not meeting these guidelines will be removed.

This is not ebay. If you have an item you want to sell, put a price on the item. If you are willing to accept a lower price, make it an "or best offer" price. People do not know what you think the value of an item is. You are wasting your time, their time, and the boards time by placing "make offer" ads. We will not allow "make offer" ads in the classified section.

There have been a lot of complaints about "feeler" threads lately. People seem to think they can throw the idea of selling parts out on the board with the intention of selling them if someone shows enough interest in the item to make it worth their wild. Only to decide that they don't want to sell after people make offers or set up deals.

This is going to stop. Effective immediately there will be no more "feeler" threads. If you have something you want to sell, then list it on the board and put a price on the part. If someone wants to buy it, work out a deal. If you don't get any offers you feel are reasonable, then don't sell it. It is as easy as that. This is not an auction forum. This is not a forum for people to convince you to sell your parts. This is a FOR SALE forum. If you want to list something without a price and let people make bids to see if the price goes up enough to convince you to sell it, then list it on ebay with a reserve. Our classified section is not the place to do it. Any feeler threads listed in the classified sections will be locked.

For Local Sales only or sales that you prefer a local pick up, it is a must that you put a location in the thread as well.

For Local Sales only or sales that you prefer a local pick up, it is a must that you put a location in the thread as well.

There has been a lot of posting in for sale threads of late that have become a "price" debate. This type of posting should not be done.

If you don't like the price either make an offer or send a PM don't post some BS like "Hey I can buy these $100 less down the block".

If you can buy them for less, go buy them, don't fuck around in the thread.

If you have no intention of buying a listed item, move along, don't post.

TIA for your cooperation.
