$100 per side for magnaflow ball and socket joints that look like they might work, that's a no go. $25-$30 to hack that off and convert to a v-band, might be a better idea.
I would much rather have a v-band.....

This should work.....but I need to compare costs to having v bands fabbed onto my current x pipe and header vs just buying this......

I highly doubt it's 1-3/4" primaries, the collectors are still 2.5". Should be 3".

Also they look like BBK replicas.

Keep this thread alive guys Im pretty close to getting a set myself.

Im a little late but to the poster with pacesetters I hope you live in a dry climate. I bought a set on sale years ago with the intention of using lots of high temp paint before install because they are mild steel after all. After reading so many stories where people had theirs start to rot within a year or two and quickly sold mine (yea it was dumb to do but I didnt want them anymore and Im stubborn). The buyer lived in Tennessee and during their 3 day trip from Florida to Tennessee the inside started rusting. And honestly for the price of them you could get 2 sets of the ebay brand stainless steel long tubes. Just my 2 cents.

I know this is about LT headers. I have DNA shorty headers that I got pretty cheap on ebay, though maybe not as cheap as some of these LT headers. They're T-304 W/ 1 7/8 primaries, and came with very nice gaskets. I have a set of new BBK ceramic shorties to compare them to. The DNA's are hands down better quality in every way vs the BBK. Just my experience with a "knock-off" brand.

So... if I order a pair of these 1 3/4" primary headers, where can I get the stainless ball and socket stuff to make my midpipe?

FWIW I found some "socket" part of the ball & socket parts on ebay in 409 stainless for around $50. Looked them up because at a time I was considering BBK's (or knockoffs) and wanted to mate them to my current short H pipe.

Couldn't guarantee that they would work but they look like they should, I can get you the link later when I'm not at work (ebay is blocked here)

Also, FWIW the only 1 3/4" primary tube headers that I know of are Dynatech, Pacesetter, and MAC; plus Kooks or Stainless Works if you order them that way. I've heard the ebay ones that say they're 1 3/4" actually aren't, I know they have BBK knockoffs that say that but I've seen where people have bought those and they were 1 5/8" just like the BBK's.

Everything looks very high quality. Welds look good, the man even ground down a bit of the welds in each primary tube (but not too much! Which is great). Overall, whoever built this set knew what they were doing and it was not their first go at at.....probably not their first 1000th go at it. We will see though....we will see. The only thing I can tell that is inferior, is the metal....it shows signs of a slightl lower quality SS.....but maybe that's just how it looks when you do a lot of bending and welding? I am not experienced in those matters.

Cool, yea the ball and socket would be easier for my shop to deal with I think vs vband. Plus I have custom mid mount mufflers welded to the end of the current x pipe.....(love the mid mount sound) If I got a new x-pipe kit for the headers.....those would have to be re welded, adding cost.

When they say dimensions on the primaries, do they mean innner or outer diameter?

I got the Pypes H-pipes to go with it. Welded the extra o2 bung for my wideband.

It was on sale at LMP website.

I also have these laying around if anyone wants to fab something:

They are off road legs that were shorten to install some cats but never proceeded. They are meant for stock/shorty headers.

The bend is different for the long tubes:

I'm gonna run my plan by the exauhst shop....pretty sure if I can get my hands on those cheaper ball sockets then that would be the way to go. Let my shop re align my system while they are at it too. I am doing the headers though.

Don't know about the primary dimensions.

Also, don't know what quality stainless those headers are made out of, but I do know the last few exhaust tips I've bought that were stainless and most likely chinese have gotten rust spots on them. They polish out, but it still sucks.

When you installing them?
In probably three weekends from now. This weekend and next are booked. I also need to get my wideband wires and gauge in place and ready. I want to get a log to my tuner asap after install.

Thank you so much! I will put a mic on my headers and make sure. Pretty sure they are 2.5" and the ball is 3" and these are perfect. Just need to run it all by the shop so when I drive the car with open headers.....lol.....to the shop they can get it done with no snags. Thanks again, I think this is the ticket.

I just had an idea....that two bolt ball socket on eBAy is extremely similar to what is on the end of the pypes "down pipes" on my off road x pipe kit..(for the stock headers).......how come I can't just "harvest" those? I remember they had a sleeve you put in them for stock headers which probably means they will fit my new headers without the spacers!!! Pypes, to save money ordered a batch of those sockets I bet, and put the spacers in for the stock header kits.

The other problem is that turn from the end of the header to the start of the the x pipe. It is very slight.....I think I can use that bend in my current "down pipes" as well. It should be close. If not, I am not sure what I will do. I would have to find someone that can mandrel bend 2.5 pipe. Pretty sure my shop doesn't have a mandrel pipe bender for that big of pipe. They are cheap, do great work, but they are not full custom shop like that.

They can get it worked out one way or another. The actual header install is what I need to focus on. It's going to be quite the job.....

Thank you. Your pictures gave me the idea to "harvest" my pypes down legs. I bet they fit the socket just fine on my new headers. I will leave the shop to figure out the rest.
