placed the order then got a message the next day they were back ordered till 10/10/14 so I thought oh well im not in a hurry. now I got a message saying they should ship today so we'll see when they show up.

good grammar lesson btw. I hate to say it but the older I get and the more our culture uses short hand text and such I find myself making those same errors. were, where,we're

good lord, I just got home and the tires had been delivered. they look fucking huge, man im hoping they work cause it would look good but there is a part of me thinking they are gonna stick out past the fender well an inch by the way they look.

the top tread measures 12.5 inches and just measuring the outer bead to outer bead is 10.5 inches. not having a good feeling about this.

like I said before I've wasted more money on less so we'll see how this comes out hopefully tomorrow.

Just FYI,

I ordered a set of Hankook Ventus R-S3s from tirerack.com in the same sizes I was already running on the car (265/35 and 305/35). The only change - or so I thought - was moving from Nitto NT555s to Hankooks.

But when I laid them next to each other, each of my new tires was an inch wider than the ones being replaced. I was nervous - and pissed!

Fortunately they all fit fine. The S197 can take a pretty big tire.

Do you think a 275/35/20 would have worked in the front with a 35mm offset? While im sitting here waiting im trying to figure out the widest front if these backs work out.

I hear ya Deez, hopefully in just abit.

Are they going to have yellow letters? :beerdrink: lol.

I was running 275/35/20 on a 10.5" rim on my red girl. I think the offset was 30mm tho not sure.

I was thinking hard about the yellow letters from that website they posted, i just wanted to make sure*i get the tires on then ill photoshop it again and decide.

It must be rocket science to change two tires, they took the car back about an hour ago.

Discount tire? They did mine and i was scared at what i saw.

Ken Towery, in the end they did a good job. well they fit but I must get the fronts, looks like a tractor now. gonna spray off the car and post some pics in abit.

MT SC don't come in 265's so I need to go with 255 or 275's on a 9 inch rim with a 35mm backspace

Sweet got the 255's cancelled and the 275's ordered.

Thanks to all you guys for the help, I know there are numerous tire size threads on here but I get confused if I get to much info.

ordered them through summit.

went up and sprayed the dust off. those front tires look so little now. I hope the 275's sidewall matches up with the backs ok.

I know they're not the MTs that this thread is about, but I suspect my Hankooks are close in size. I just wanted to show how a 305/35-20 fits on a 20x10 +45 wheel. It's right on the fender edge but doesn't seem to be rubbing. Might be too big for some but this is how a set of wheels and tires are supposed to fit IMO.
