I pulled off the alternator to be replaced and found this coolant leak. It seems to be dripping from the black connection piece. Can someone tell me what the part is and how difficult would it be for me to change myself (modest mechanical skills)?

Just cut out that elbow and put a piece of hose in there with some clamps.

I just fixed this same leak on my kids car. I replaced the o rings with no luck. There was a ware groove in the tube on the cross over that was preventing seal. I just cut the pipe and used a PC of hose.

^ ditto. same thing happened. ford sells the hose as one for $150. but just bought some clamps, hose and a plastic elbow for like 7$ and works perfectly.
