I run 20x10 Niche Milans front and rear (also 40mm offset), front tire size is 275/35/20 and it fits perfect, nice and square-shouldered, no stretch and no sidewall bulge.
You could probably also do a 285/35/20 or a shorter 285/30/20 but that really doesn't have much sidewall.

No poke and plenty of clearance against the strut (3/8"-1/2"):
(The front of the car is on Steeda Sport springs, rear is now higher than in these pics because the 305 rear tires were sometimes hitting the fender lip over bumps - a culprit of the 40mm offset; if it was 48mm like the AMR 20x10's that I used to have, there would be no issues)

those are 20x10 +43 all around. I had plenty of room. 275/35/20 fit them like a glove. I'm also lowered like 4 inches that's why its so cambered and tucked in the front

I have 275/35 20's on SVE GT350 replicas (20x10, +40) and the fit is excellent. I have not experienced any tracking issues at all. The ride quality has been much better than I thought it would be as well.

I have 19x10 with 40 offset in front. Running 285/35/19 and its a pretty tight fit. I had to use a 3mm spacer to not rub on the brembo brakes, but that can vary from wheel to wheel depending on the spoke design. With the 3mm spacer and about 1.2* if camber (on pretty stiff 1.5" drop BMR handling springs), it just fits within the wheel well and has zero rub.
I wouldn't go with 285/35/20, that is quite a bit taller and you run a pretty high risk of rubbing somewhere. 275/35 or 285/30 should fit fine.

Gabe's is a 2013 GT.. So my question is, are the front wheel well openings the same from 2005-14 or just from 2005-2009 and then changed in 2010-2014 ?

I'm also interested in this as I'd like to go with the same 20x10 wheels as konablue has. Mines a 2007 gt with gt500 brembos. American muscle state they won't fit with brembos and rear only. They say they are 48 mm offset. So will they fit after all? I have to be very careful when I buy as I can't send them back.

Cheers, andy

It depends on the wheels and the spoke profile.

My car with 20x10" +48mm AMR's (which are similar to the GT500 style he has but not identical) up front easily clearing the Brembos.

It's just a pain in the arse as I'm in the UK, there's not a lot of mustang info. Why does American muscle state that 18x10 and 20x10 don't fit on the front when some of you guys in the USA are using them up front ? Also a gt500 style wheel that won't clear gt500 brakes according to AM ,where's the logic in that. There's a customer picture I think that shows them on a gt500.

Sweet ! I was looking at those but when I saw those gt500 style wheels on that konablue above I changed my mind.

Well they're replica GT500 wheels and not the real deal. Also they're wider than the factory front wheels on the GT500's. From the factory they were only 9.5". The larger 6 piston Brembos from the 2013-2014 GT500's are actually more wheel friendly as the caliper is further out from the hub and gives more spoke clearance for many wheels.

On the replica 10" wheels, the spoke shape is different than the OEM wheels. I put 19x10" replica 2010 GT-500 wheels all around on my 07, and needed to use spacers approx. 5 mm thick on the front to clear the 14" four-piston Brembos.

10" on the front is an "aggressive fitment" by many peoples' standards, that is the other reason why AM and LMR don't show them for the front.

AM, like just about any other wheel mass-marketer, is going to be very conservative in their wheel recommendations. My best guess is that they don't want to be fielding endless calls with various complaints and problems involving fitment or rubbing. Nor are they in the business of doing what could literally be hundreds of individual design projects. Keep in mind that they have no control over what tire sizes any given customer will actually try to use on them.

10" wide wheels in any diameter from 18 to 20 is almost a no-brainer, with offsets of about +42 working at either end of the car without rubbing on the inside or sticking out past the fender. With 275/xx tires, anyway.

10" really isn't all that "aggressive". Not when Ford itself used 18x9.5 for their 2008-ish GT500 and when even 11's are possible (see sig pic  ). Maybe even without spacers.

Read carefully . . . GT500 style does not mean anything more than the external appearance looks like a GT500 wheel. A GT500-style wheel could be of any diameter, any width, any offset, and have spokes of any backside contour. Most 18" and larger wheels that are not OK'ed to fit GT500 (Brembo) brakes have a problem with spoke clearance (the 4-piston Brembo calipers stick out further on the wheel side and need the wheel spokes to be curved deeper to clear).

If you have any thoughts at all of upgrading to Brembo brakes, make sure that the wheels you choose are listed to fit a real GT500.

Fits and clears Brembos without spacers.

Thanks! Although the 20x10 fit I ended up going with 8.5 & 10 staggered
