I am finding it troubling to get an accurate sizing on this wheel.

Two distributors offering the KMC District 5 spoke in a 20x10.5 specify the BS and OS differently for rear wheel fitment on the 20x10.5 wheel. One supplier offers it in a 7.13"BS/+35mm offset and claims that the wheel will protrude outside the wheel well by 10mm. Another supplier offer the same exact 20x10.5 wheel in the other fitment which is a 7.52BS/+45mm offset.

Velgen and Vossen both very high end wheels (and way out of my price range) offer their 5 spoke wheel (Classic 5 and CV3 respectively) in a 20x10.5 rim with 7.52 BS / +45mm offset.

I have asked the one Mustang supplier about this and have been told that the KMC will not fit properly using the very same fitment as the Vossen or Velgen. HUH??????? WHAT???? Am I missing something here?

Has anyone purchased the KMC District 20x10.5 and mounted it on their 2013/2014 Mustang GT? If so what back spacing and offset was specified and does the wheel protrude past the wheel well?

Thanks.

Possibly, never thought of that, which reminds me. I am not running the Brembo Brake option either. Thanks

^^^ Tried that several times. No email replies. I got hold of LMR today and their specialist dug into the matter. Jason over there is a top notch guy. Turns out KMC offers the 20x10.5" in a 7.52"BS/+45mm offset and now LMR is going to change their specification on the item to minimize that nasty "JOE DIRT" look that would have been unavoidable with the 7.13"BS/+35mm offset. Down side to everything is that he told me it would be a 90-120 day wait to receive them because they aren't available for whatever reason. Must be a new offset they have been offering only recently as I checked last night at a tire store and they indicated in their catalog only the +35mm offset was available though on line KMC offers it.

So I got the answer I was looking for now it's just a matter of trying to decide if I in fact wish to wait OR go another route.

Well, I have 20x10 wheels with 40mm offset and a fat 305/35/20 rear tire had fender contact over bumps.
The way it was hitting pretty much showed me that a narrower tire like a 285/35 would've been OK, but I already spent the money on the 305's and wasn't willing to make a change.

That having been said, a half-inch (12.7mm) wider wheel with only 5mm more offset, will stick out about 1mm more

I really don't understand why wheel manufacturers don't offer these 10.5"-wide wheels with offsets closer to 55, so we can actually run a decent tire back there ...

From all the photos I have seen of Vossen 20x10.5 wheels with 7.52BS/+45mm offset they shouldn't, that is shouldn't stick out...or at least the rim should not stick out. The 305 is an awful lot of tire to get onto a 10" wheel which may be part of yoru rubbing issue, but I am just speculating. I am only looking at the 305 as an alternative because of the 10.5 inch wheel. I have actually found some better height fitment (front v rear) in the newer Firestone 500 series tire that is getting some decent reviews. THey don't offer a 305, but they do offer a 285/35/20 and a 245/40/20 fort he front with heights within .14" of each other. Overall height is right at 27.75" and that benefits me in more ways than one. They should also fit on a 10.5 wheel without stretching as a 275 series can go on a 10.5 as minimum width. I think due to the design which sets the hubs further out toward the fender edge with the S197 vice prior models (S550 now sits in further as well I understand) tire makers are hesitant to provide more positive offsets due to losing the ability to create the concave or deeper dish effect most of us crave especially on staggered setups. If you look at a wheel for an edge body vs an S197 you can see more lip on deep dish wheels on the rim for the edge vs the same wheel spec'd for the S197. So that may be why they push the outer edge of the wheel. I know I have in the past bought a set of TSW TSW Valencia wheels I thought would have deeper lip on the fronts looking at the photo, and then only find out they barely have any lip at all in the front because the hubs sitting out further which gives wheel makers less room to work with while trying to still make a nice looking wheel.

How accurate are those online offset calculators?

I'm trying to fit 20x10.5 et30 and says it will poke out 24mm but I've seen some Mustangs with this wheel spec and looked flushed to me.

I have no idea. I have not been using any on line calculator. I have used the Vossen specification for 05-14 Mustang GT non brembo as my standard being they do not stick out and actually tuck in every 05-14 mustang photo I have seen using any Vossen with that offset on a 10.5. I have also found the AR MMR series 551C in a 10" rear 20 with the same 7.52x+45mm offset and again no stickout. Primitive, but visual proof beats a theoretical calculator in my book. That and t he fact that the 18x10's currently on the car are +45mm offset and don't hang out.
