well if these cars weigh 3700lbs, i'm willing to bet a 12.6-12.8 is do able. My 03gt with exhaust and gears went 13.68@98mph at a da of 6500'. These cars have over 100hp more. should easily beat and 03 2v by a second.
Are you the same guys that believed the 2010 camaro SS was going to run 12.8 stock?
400 pounds only makes a .4 difference right? Well the 426 hp Camaro SS weighing at 3900 lbs only runs 13.3 @ 108 mph.
Ya...that's only 300 pounds more than the 2011 mustang GT.
Vapor Trails, I suspect you made the error of depending on an online calculator.
Consider the following rwhp figures from these calculators.
2007 Mustang GT w/ CAI and Mailorder Tune.
330* bhp or 290* rwhp (Estimate. Its never been dynoed))
3700 lb (280 lb Driver)
DA -71' ASL / 106.6 mph / 350 rwhp
DA -1500' ASL / 108.1 mph / 365 rwhp
I dont know about you but I seriously doubt my CAI/Tune car has ever made 365 rwhp.
How many mph do you think a 82 bhp gain is good for? My moneys on 7 mph.
So your saying the 2010 Camaro is 0.4 seconds slower than a stock LS1 Camaro, 0.4 slower than my CAI/Tune 2007 GT and 0.1 slower than a Showroom Stock 2005 Mustang (13.2 @ 104.2). Sorry but I dont buy it.
In the first place a 108 mph should be at least a 12.8 on a 1.8 and it should trap a lot higher than that in good air (Stock LS1 Z28's trapped as high as 109 mph). So it sounds like bad air with a crappy driver. I dont hang out at the LS1 sights so I dont know what the record is for a new Camaro but considering the LS3 Corvette runs 11's @ 120 mph I doubt its 13's @ 108 mph.
By your own reasoning of 0.10 per 100 lb (which I dont really agree with) with the 11.7 an LS3 Vette turns the Camaro should run a 12.4.
PS You do know we are talking about the ultimate potential of these cars stock and not an average pass in average air by an average driver correct?
Ah, I thought you were just talking about what me or you would run on an average day.
A little research shows the 2010 SS running 13.0 @ 108 from Motortrend. But from real life experience, I've never seen a bone stock SS running faster than 13.5 and I've even seen cams/long tubes/exhaust/gear/sticky tire SS running 12.6 at best.
No, I didn't use an online calculator. Experience tells me it's not happening. If you look at the ET list, cars trapping 115 mph or higher than significantly better power to weight ratios than the 2011. The car gains significant HP, but also 150 pounds.

thats a STOCK motor with bolt-ons @3850lbs. the yellow one at the track sunday had an air-intake only, auto. its been 12.8s with no-tune. .
Did it break 12's Sunday? I noticed the brand new white with black strips one was running mid to low 13's. The most fustrating thing about stock is that weather impacts the tune so much and, the weather last Sunday wasn't nutten to write home about. My kid's took alot of video last Sunday. the best was my ooops first run breaken the shifter handle, lol.
yea, twice. 12.95, 12.97@ 108. that white one ran a 13.3x last i saw. the owner was..um...little 'out there', he had no idea what he was doing. mine was off also. 12.57, 12.58, 12.61, but at least my mph was good. that last pass 12.67 , was after tune swap from nitrous tune. dunno what i was thinking but left OD on and left like i was a grandma. lol
for comparison, my father in laws 08 GT manual trans with almost every option and full tank is exactly 3600(no driver) lbs on a local truck scale.
Give me the car for a few weeks I will knock the weight down by the hundreds lol
