I read this on MF and thought I'd post it here because not too many '05 and up owners were responding.

Some of the individual kits it takes to make up the whole sha-bang seem pretty doable for less $$$. Here's the links to the kits only specific to our cars.

is that really all you need along with a head unit?

I've gone through the Vortech instructions on a pdf file, I can't seem to find at the moment and there are a few things here and there that do not appear in the links/pics I've attached. There are things specific to the '05-06 and the then the '07-09, Bullitt, etc... but nothing too difficult. The '05-06 has a water crossover mod that needs to be done and the '07-09 has a CAI mod. I really can't recall.

I'll try to see if I can find upload images tonight.

This image gives me hope.

Look at the intake elbow from Paxton. I see a U and 45º bend, one weld and a couple of couplers. My after market CAI came with larger MAF and conical filter. The Vortech kit is running the CAI kit without a shield so no need to fab that.

I think this design can be made for half the price of this one.

If even at $200 you're still saving $100 off the "$1500 kit".

Not sure without consulting Vortech for sure. I can't see why in a thread 14 pages long someone wouldn't call this guy on it. Maybe some Vortech owners will chime in.

Oh, forgot to mention that if you add all those prices it totals to $909 for our cars. Still pretty good if you can source a head unit for $600-700 or if you're able to knock some $$$ off the kit like I'm going to try by fabbing some of it.

I don't believe the previous gen head units are the same. I may be wrong though. It may be possible to clock them. This is still interesting.

I'm not sure with the Vortech but I know the Procharger is different for the 05+ & prior years. The head unit spins in a different direction.
