I saw someone on another forum do this and I liked the way it turned out, so I got myself a set of 2010 side mirrors and installed them today.

You do have to make some modes to the mirrors and to the car.

1. Remove the inside cover by pulling on it. Disconnect the electrical connections and unbolt mirror.

2. Here you can see the 2010 mirror won't line up with the current holes. So you have to make some modes for it to fit. So mark where you need to drill. Two of the holes will only need to be bigger

3. Here it shows the size holes you'll need to make. The two holes on the right you just have to make bigger (7/16th) and the hole on the left you need to make and it needs to be 3/8 hole. This is the only mods to the car that you need to make. Don't be scared to drill, you'll be able to cover up your mistake(s). LOL

4. On the 2010 mirror you need to cut off the two black tabs on it. They won't line up with any holes and you won't need them at all.
There is also a black tab that holds the connector straight, cut it off too.

Tabs are gone here.

Once this is done, you should be ready to bolt the mirror on and connect the electrical connections, then install the cover. We also found out that the cover for the 2010 will also fit the 2005+ mustang. We used our 2005+ covers.

6. The installation is the same for both mirrors. The job only took about 30 minutes.

My covers will be paint silver and I should have them this week.

I have these on mine as well that I did last summer. They're a pretty easy install, and look far better than the original ones.

They don't come painted. You have to have the covers painted separately.

Here's mine (I don't have any pics of the mirrors close up):

Nice! I'm definitely a fan! I think painted covers and black bases would go good with my tungsten grey/flat black "Boss" motif.

It's orange (not that it matters), and the wheels are True Forged somethings... Not sure which but they are TF's.

How is the rear view ? I found the stock one pretty impressive at this point. That would explain their shape.

Hey Ed. Moving this to the Mustang chat area. Far too impressive to be buried in the Pitstop

Those look nice, Ed! And a very good write-up, too. Should be a real help for anyone wanting to do the same thing.
