if it's totaled buy it back from the insurance company and rebuild it with all upgraded parts. hell, new roush leathers are 300 bucks with new foam and i'll try to send you a parts if i have something you need laying around.

Thanks for the kind words. At first I was really upset about it but it's just a car...it can be replaced. I'm a little pissed about the mods if it's a total loss. Just put over three grand in the drivetrain, plus the whipple is only about a year old. Doubt the ins. company will cover all of the mods...I just hope I can put the stock pieces back on so I can at least sell the mods. Time will tell. I don't think the water was high enough to do much, if any, electrical damage so it may be repairable...I just don't want issues down the road if I end up keeping it.

They do. Got a claim number and it's getting towed to the shop tomorrow. I would like a 5.0 but don't have the cash to upgrade right now...

I don't care but I would NOT want that car after something like that...No thanks electrical nightmares to come i would imagine

I wouldn't want the car after all of that either. Ask your insurance company to pay for ServPro to recondition the seats, carpet and anything else water damaged. Car shops are typically setup to take good care of flood damaged upholstery.

Did the water get any higher?

For your sake, I hope they total it. If they won't let you take the mods off of it and return it to stock, then see if you can buy it back and weigh your options on the buy back cost vs. selling off the mods, engine and drive train.

^ No shit and IDK how your insurance is but I would raise hell if they didn't pay for my mods but mine are all listed and my poicy is what ever is on or in the car. I would stand firm with the insurance company with what YOU want..If you don't want it totaled then im sure they willl do what they can to keep it from totaling...But then again I would GUARANTEE you to have many problems down the road...I say either strip the car back to stock let insurance take it or leave it as is and collect a hefty check from Ins. to get a new car and start fresh~!

Do you have receipts of what mods you put on your car as well as installation bills if you paid someone to do them? That may help you get reimbursed for the loss if they/you go that route.

Really sorry man.

Based on having a flooded car/totaled car of my own, I would say that car is totaled. My Lincoln LS had maybe 6 inches of water in the interior and was nowhere near as high as the water level on your car, and it was just shy of $4000 in damage.

If the insurance company tries to fix it, contest. Water will rust your inside of the interior, there will be mold, possible motor damage, the under carriage will rust, etc.

A Flood vehicle car loses 50-60% of it's current value, and you will never be able to get anything for that car.

In IL, if the water damage exceeds 40% of the total fair market value of the car, the car should be considered a total loss. Let's hope the damage is 10K or greater on your car.

I also hope you either have most of the car paid off/completely paid off, or you have GAP insurance.

Keep your head up man.

Wait, this was a flash flood on the street? As in, you were driving along, minding your own business, and this water just came out of nowhere and you had to run for it?

Holy crap... :thud:

And you're only an hour or so away from me! I think my car's getting parked on top of a mountain tonight!
