Started the long tiresome process of replacing valve springs, followers, & lash adjusters. Man what a pita!

Not a particularly difficult task, but it sure is tedious.

Yeah it's still fully assembled and in the car.
You ever use the air tool for holding the valve while changing valve springs? I've never used one, was wondering how much pressure is required?

Nope. Never really looked for one and assumed you would have to make a special fitting long enough to reach.

I take it you have the freedom tool? If not I could lend you one.

Just take your time and watch the valve when compressing the tool. Never had a problem using it.. knock on wood

I sold the International about a month ago.

The trailer is smaller than I wanted but I got such a good deal, I couldn't pass on it. I played around with some graphics just to see what it might look like when it's done. Of course, I will change the wheels and tires and all of the lights will be changed over to LEDs.

I bought a 1972 Chevy 3/4 ton from the original owner and it's been garaged since new and the paint is original. I'm doing a 12V Cummins swap but keeping the truck as stock looking as possible. Currently, it has a 355 with a small roller cam and Vortec heads that makes 260whp. I'm going to add the upper trim and two tone it green and white.

Do you have a thread on the swap?

Not yet.

Marc, you have class. Both of those trucks are awesome

Thanks. I tend to be a little off of my rocker and do things different than most folks. My wife tells me to just go buy a new f350 Super Duty and be done with it. But I just can't do it the easy way. I have way to much fun building things.

I plan to have the 72 done by SEMA so I can tow the Mustang to Vegas. 1150 miles each way in an old pickup sounds like fun to me. To others, I bet it sounds like pure hell.

Thanks for the offer, but I went ahead and bought the Freedom Racing spring compressor and the their valve air hold tool. It's about 8" long total length with a air hose quick connect at the top. Come with no directions so I have to assume its design is to just connect the hose to it and leave connected. Just not sure how much pressure is needed to hold the valve in place while you remove the spring.
I'll do a little research today and see what info is out there.

Love the '72 Checy Marc. It will be head turner when you get that diesel installed.

How much was the air tool? I have the wedge and compressor. Would you rent or sell the tool?
