Decorated for Christmas. When we sold our old house and moved to a condo we got rid of most of the outdoor decorations figuring we wouldn't need them. Then sold the condo and bought a house again - so had to buy a bunch of stuff again.

Thanks. We bought a place in Winston Salem NC. My wife is there, I am still working in SE Michigan. She did not want to spend another winter here.

nice looking deck and roof.

If I had a hot tub, it would for sure be in a enclosed area, preferably insulated, that way you can hop into it when theres a foot of snow outside, and not freeze your junk off :p

I've thought about insulating it a bit. Also thought about putting a small gas fire place out there. The hot tub does put off alot of steam when open so not sure what kind of moisture issues I would have. Going to take awhile to finish it like we want though. We are leaving the ceiling unfinished for now so I can run wiring. Then I gotta finish staining it and screen it in. Plus now I need to build a step down deck to the side to hold the grill and smoker.

The guys worked yesterday, said they should be able to finish up on Monday

Looks like closing date might get pushed back a few days. The seller was listed as "Estate" when, in fact, it was titled in all the names of the heirs. So an addendum had to be drafted and signed by everyone. Now they have to get all 4 of them plus their spouses to sign the sales contract document instead of just the executor signature. I am slightly irritated over it, but we should still get it done within the approved time window. We were hoping to get in a week or so early.

Smoke Hollow propane, 36in model I think. Wife got it off Amazon for Christmas last year. Have only used it a couple times but works pretty good for my limited experience smoking ability

I have been trying to justify getting one. Not sure though. My wife is putting up the tree today in the house we just bought, so that's something.

Installing laminate flooring in the lower level. Makes me remember why I got out of the floor covering installation biz.

The wife and I are building one. We jus got out of permiting this month and the pad was just finished last week and they staked it out. Now just waiting on them to pour the slab. Should be this week! We are very excited!

Kinda house related, but used some Lowe's gift cards to buy a few more storage bins. Worked on organizing all my nails, screws, bolts, and other random bits and pieces. Alot of the stuff could probably be thrown away, but it's hard to do.

Christmas evening the plumbing backed up due to tree roots. Ruined the new laminate that was 6 days old. I pull the toilet and set it on the back porch while I was ripping out the wet laminate. It sat there for a few days until I decided it would be a good idea to take it out into the yard and dump out the water. So I did. Water dumps out, all is well. When I started installing the new laminate again, I brought the toilet back inside. I figured it would be better if it was warm when I put it back down. By the time I finished with the new flooring, it was late so I left the toilet, still upside down, on cardboard. Woke up the next morning to find water everywhere. I guess in my stupidity, I neglected to consider any frozen liquid still inside the thing. But, in my (weak) defense, when I turned it over in the yard a bunch of water came out so I figured it was empty. So, third time's the charm I hope.

Hopefully you didn't put laminate down in your bathroom. There is a 100% chance that your bathroom floor will get wet again.

Yep, that's what we did. In all fairness, the amount of water that will get on the floor under normal circumstances is not enough to cause damage. However a quart or so left in a puddle will. We shall see. If it gives us problems, out it goes and I'll plop down some tile.
