So do the 2012's also have these issues with the transmissions? I am looking at purchaseing a new GT and am having a hard time choosing between an auto or manual trrany. Thanks in advance for the info guys!
From what I have dug into the 2012's do not seem to be having the same issues and the Person in Ford I spoke with said the problems with the 2011's are only a very small percentage of cars, but those with problems are being addressed but No Fix Has Been Found Yet.

That makes no sense.. If there was a fix for 2012, then, it would be implemented on those 2011 cars that had issues.. And, it's more than a "small percentage".

I have a 2012 with about 350 miles on it that is totally stock as of now and i am starting to hear a little bit of a whine noise. I am suppose to get my exhaust intalled next week along with CAI and tune but I may hold off and make sure it doesnt get any worse. I am hoping this is normal but if it starts getting worse i will have it looked at.

I have a 2012 gt with 800 miles on it. At about 400 miles I noticed a little whine in gears 1-4 after about 2500rpm. It hasn't gotten any worse over the last 400 miles but I did take it in and have a ford dealer document my concern about the noise.
The tech acknowledged that there was a slight whine, but just said to bring it back if it gets any worse because right now it is nothing serious and may just be normal for the car.
The whine is quiet enough that you have to have the windows up with the radio off in order to hear it. Time will tell if it gets any worse I guess.
Honestly though if a little whine is my only issue then I will consider myself lucky and not complain about it seeing as how others are having serious problems with their tranny's.

I have a 12 with about 2200 miles on it. The transmission is "notchy" at times but nothing what 2011 owners are describing. I am guessing they sent more inspectors to China as a fix? :asshat:

who would have imagined. 3650>MT82.

i know eh. I had zero problems with the 3650 in my 06 GT.

The TR6060 has its fair share of 1-2 shift problems as well, but, its only in the higher rpm's and the root cause of the problem at-least has a solution at a reasonable cost. I think ford should have maybe raised the price a little on the Mustang and put the TR6060 in the Stang's instead of this junk MT82 transmission. Just think about the long term affects of these symptoms will be on the transmission for even the folks with no major issues RIGHT now. I can see a lot of MT82's going bust at 70-80K miles.

I know all car makers are privy to it, but, it seems to me Ford has always had issues with their damn transmissions in their vehicles. We just got my Dad's old work truck (99 Explorer) transmission rebuilt at 100,000 miles which I guess isn't too bad, but, I know for a fact for the longest damn time we considered ourselves lucky with that suv that its tranny lasted as long as it did. The explorer tranny problems were a colossal mess and Ford in the end never did own up to the problems. Ford has a long history of transmission problems, seemingly more so then other car makers. You figure they would figure this thing out by now, lol!

Thanks for the info guys! Looks like an auto maybe a wise choice for me. I would like to mod it and race it as well. I'd hate to buy a manuall tranny and have it modded so there's no warranty and have to pay for it out of pocket when I knew ahead of time about the issues.

I agree 100% Here is the quote from my dealer:

I expect nothing but problems from my new tranny!

If there is a TSB on an issue with a 2011 and I believe there's a few / correct? Wouldn't those issues be addressed in the 2012 on the new build - Deysha please respond ...? thx

Small percentage hmmmmmmmmmmmmm well then everyone of them must be over on the Modded Mustang forum as that's all I hear over there.

Biggest bunch of whiners I have ever encountered.

the mustang forums make up a small percentage of actual mustang owners, and the ones on the forums usually are not the easiest on there cars, be nice to your car and it in turn will be nice to you

I always laugh at these "my 6mt is fixed!" threads, because after a short time its always "update: back in shop, tranny is gone= ("

Im down for a class action lawsuit.

Did they fix the '12 trans? Why don't they just drop one of those in our cars?

I agree. We went to the Dearborn proving grounds last summer, Ford drivers
hustled us around the track all day, and they really beat the shit out of 3 MT82 cars, temps at almost 100, nothing broke.
Until that day, i was worried about my own one. It's OK a year later.

again- Mustang Modded a bunch of cry babies and wannabees:asshat:

You can say what you want but the problems with the MT-82 are real. People aren't making shit up about the very real problems they are having with this tranny and also all the other problems like the pressure plate bolts backing out. Why don't you go back over there and continue your trolling. :asshat:
